No slapping a kid on his birthday is not justified...!!!
But here we need to think it in a different manner.. No i am not saying Indira did right by slapping Ishaan but would like to analyse the situation in which it happened... Indira was emotionally and mentally disturbed... the person she hates the most, the person responsible for her father's re-marriage, the person who snatched her childhood, the person because of whom she grew responsible before time, the person because of whom she became Hitler Didi ---has been in front of her and seeing everyone wooing over her its natural she was disturbed and hurt.. Specially Ishaan who is more like a child to him fails to listen/understand her Bua has really hurted her..!!Ishaan on his side is correct after all he is a kid and every kid loves getting gifts specially the one what he really wanted.. SO when when Indira asked to return him the gift he din want to and hence out of frustration she reacted that way. ,, Indira tried telling Ishaan firstly in a polite way to return when he did not even raised her voice..But still he was not keen she raised her hand that was only in the moment of anger and frustration... But she realized that soon and said sorry immediately but Ishaan was then veryy hurt..There has always been a beautiful bond between Ishaan and Indira and i really hope it will not get ruin... Ishaan would surely understand his Bua once he gets to knw how his Bua dadi actually is...!!

Exactly! You echoed my thoughts Shona👏...I have nothing to add. People here need to start thinking from both POVs like you. They are so narrow-minded that they cannot think of any reasons why Indira behaved/reacted as she did, or why Ishaan kept insisting.
That is quite a condescending statement to make about other members, it was quite unexpected from you Sandeep! There is not justification for physical violence be it towards younger or older people. It is extreme way to show your frustration towards others. A matured person knows how to handle herself during this type of situation, she knows how to use self control and let thing go.This kind of actions actually put a question mark on her mental growth !Btw: what's the problem of taking gift a kid?By relationship, that bua is his grandmother , so he has every right to take gift from her and she has every right to give to him .
