Indira's personality has so many facets but,one thing that I am attracted to and is awed by is
the strong 'maternal instinct' in herđł...Maternal instinct , to nourish and to protect...is something
most women have naturally but, in Indira its in totally different level...I think all of her actions
and reactions, strengths and weaknesses stem from this...
When her papa abandoned them... the family was in turmoil...though she was not the eldest
the mother in her wouldn't allow her to sit idle and gave her the strength to take the leadđđź...this
is the first instance where her maternal instincts to protect and to nourish were at play...
Her anxiety to find Ishaan and Mandira, when they were missing are more examples to this...
We all know her relationship with Ishaan is more like a Mother and Son...and we all saw her
craving to hold Gudiya too...And I think this maternal instinct in her is what attracted Rishi towards
herâ¤ď¸...something that he couldn't find in his own mother and something he craved for so long... There are a couple of scenes where it was at play with Rishi too...like in Diwan house when he cuts his finger...he is awed at how Indira was getting worried...watch from 2:35
He is amazed at how Indira is always there for her family however ungrateful they are...I remember Rishi being impressed when Indira brought Inder to the hospital, though she didn't forgive him for betraying her family...
Indira's present weaknesses and reactions also take their root from these motherly instincts... instinct to deny and refuse to believe her children (family) is the reason behind her pain... weakness
to face the facts and the fear of the possibility of loosing them and have to fight against them...
Given some time I hope Indira finds strength ...just like she did when Inder abandoned them...and
takes corrective actions ... after all a medicine is required to cure an illness however much the child
refuses to take it... As a mother myself, I know how hard it is not to get carried away in our need
to shower love and pamper...but, also to enforce discipline and punishment if neededđ
