Television actors Kritika Kamra and Karan Kundra's relationship ended after a three-year-long courtship. However, TV has its way of bringing estranged couples together with the lure of fame and money.
With the return of Nach Baliye, a show that prompts popular actors to get into a 'relationship' with each other, let's be prepared for some odd couples to emerge out of nowhere. There's buzz that these two may be part of the show and incidentally, they are being seen together at many events too nowadays. Kundra visited Kritika on her sets (Kuch Toh Log Kahenge) too a couple of times, including during her wedding sequence last week. Now that's some marketing ploy, we must say! We tried contacting Kritika but she refused to comment.
But an actor, on condition of anonymity, said, "The show needs couples and so actors don't mind pretending to be lovers! The idea is to make some quick money and public memory is anyway short. I was shocked when last year an actress - a friend - suggested that we start attending parties together so that people assume we are involved and that would help us get an entry into some reality show or the other. It was quite ridiculous!"
The channel, meanwhile, apparently has shortlisted around 15 couples for this season including Rashmi Desai-Nandish Sandhu, Munisha Khatwani-Aman Verma, Angad and wife Pari, Kinshuk Mahajan and wife Divya, Rati Pandey-Anas Rashid, Sanaya Irani-Mohit Sehgal and Sargun Mehta-Ravi Dubey.
Remember these faux affairs?
This is not the first time two actors have come together for Nach Baliye, at the conclusion of which the two go their separate ways. Other couples who faked an affair to get on to this show:
Season 3: Karan Patel and his co-actor from the show Kasturi, Amita Chandekar participated as a couple. But soon after their eviction, the two parted ways. In fact, Karan was even quoted saying that Amita was never and can never be his girlfriend. His statement raised many eyebrows, since the show features only real-life couples.
Season 4: Naman Shaw teamed up with Megha Gupta and the two pretended to be madly in love while on the show. However, sources then claimed that Megha was already in a steady relationship with Nissar Parvez, a director. She later married Aditya Shroff, Sonakshi Sinha's ex.
