HITLER DIDI
RISHI'S POV
Note: With due respect to the CVs of my favourite Hitler Didi, I want to say that I just love Rishi……!!! He is amazing and so very lovable and Sumit Vats simply rocks as Rishi! However, I also feel that several aspects of Rishi's life like his life with the Diwans, how he transformed from Ricky into the person he is at present, how he fell in love with Indira, etc could and should have been more elaborate…. So, I am writing this pov with the hope of doing justice to the awesome and interesting personality of Rishi and his feelings. I myself enjoyed a lot while writing this pov and hopefully you will also enjoy! Please do comment! Again, constructive criticism is much appreciated! 😊
Chapter 1: Escape
It wasn't even dawn….even the great Indian capital New Delhi- ….. the New York of India was quite still….Except for one or two sleepy taxis or auto-rickshaws and stray dogs and tramps sitting beside roadside fires in order to protect themselves from the stinging cold, there was hardly a soul to be seen….And in the posh residential areas of South Delhi, it was perfect silence….. As all the rich residents slept soundly on their designer beds, with the room temperature carefully maintained by their sophisticated room heaters….. unaware of any trouble in the world except an over-full stomach or what-to-wear-in-the-next-kitty-party……!
It was amidst that apparent stillness that a young man slowly and carefully moved about in a room in semi-darkness….The little light that was present revealed that he was a young man barely twenty years of age……The alertness of his movements and activities would make one think that he was a thief but he had no trouble finding whatever he was searching for. No he wasn't a thief. He was the occupant of that room and all the belongings there and in the house belonged to his rich parents whom he would soon leave for good……
Having collected all that he was seeking, the young man pulled out a suitcase from a wardrobe. Judging by his movements, it was heavy. He placed it near the big double-sized bed and checked that backpack that was lying on the bed. It was full of cards like Visa, credit card, passport, tickets and also cash along with commodities like a comb, water bottle, a small towel, etc. It was clear that the young man was going on a long journey……After being satisfied with what he had seen, the young man flung the backpack onto his shoulders and went to the desk located at the corner of the room. He then, took out a piece of paper from inside his pocket and placed it inside a diary. It was a note. On that note he had explained that he was going to leave the house for the sake of everyone's happiness including himself and not to search for him or to try and bring him back……Yes, he was running away from home….or rather from that house that he had to call home….
The young man went back to his suitcase and picked it up….He slowly went to the door and slightly held it open to see if anyone was outside…His coast being clear, he stepped out of the room. Before closing the room he swept one glance at it for the last time…… It was quite clear that the room was quite different from the rest of the house. Because unlike the rest of the house that was richly-furnished and adorned, that room was……there is only one word for it- normal! It was modestly furnished and adorning its walls were a few posters of the young man's favourite rock band and football team that he had put up many days ago and that angered his dad a great deal! The only photograph in the room was of the young man himself…… No, he wouldn't miss a thing….. He then, quietly closed the door and went out to the corridor. He wanted to go to his parents' as well as brother's room and see them for one last time but decided against it because risking the entire plan for that would be plain foolishness! So, instead he stood in front of the family photograph in the hall. It showed a family of four- mother, father and two boys -one somewhat older than the other. Even in the dim-lighting, it was clear that the younger boy was the young man. He bore hardly any resemblance to any of his family and seemed quite out of place in the photo as it showed the arrogant older boy standing between his proud parents while the younger kid meekly standing at a distance…..
The young man sighed and moved out…He went to the kitchen and quietly went out to the open through the back door…..The chilly morning air whipped him on his face making him pull the hood of his jacket closer to his face……..He was greeted by the family dog who came running towards him, wagging his tail in excitement. The young man tried to control the dog saying, 'Hush Simba! Nehi toh tera yeh dost musibat mein par jayega! I'll miss you ……..' He then, made his way to the wall and climbed across it with the help of a stool that he had kept there the previous day. The watch man was asleep but going through the gate wasn't worth the risk. He then, hurriedly moved away from his house with a final backward glance….A taxi was waiting for him at a distance. He had arranged everything beforehand. He quickly climbed in and asked the taxi-driver to take him to the airport…..
The ride to the airport was quick and he was soon having his tickets checked. The ticket revealed that our young man was Mr. Ricky Diwan and that he was about to go to New York, America! In the proper lighting of the airport, it could be seen that he was a very handsome young man with a fair complexion on beautiful greyish green eyes…..He appeared quite nervous as he tried control his racing heart!
He was almost in awe that given his bad luck everything had gone according to his plan so far! If only he could leave that place! Surely nothing could be worse than the place he was leaving behind because outside if someone hurt him then it would be coming from someone not his own. But back in the place that he just left, he was maltreated by his own family! His own house felt not like a safe place but like a jail….the Bastille of his existence….. His own mother never showed any affection towards him but remained engrossed in her kitty parties and society circle and in showering her love to her elder son Sameer ……His father never cared a damn about his emotional needs and well-being either! His fatherly duties extended as far as covering Ricky's expenses which he did grudgingly! He never thought any good thought about Ricky and considered him and his ways the ultimate downfall of the 'great Diwans'! Therefore, when even after repeated warnings and scoldings, they couldn't transform Ricky into the shallow-minded weak creatures that they were, Mr. Diwan stopped talking with him and couldn't tolerate his presence at all! And as for Sameer Diwan……….the lesser said about him, the better! So far as Ricky was concerned, his elder brother was a curse on the face of the earth….a crazy wild animal whose madness was further encouraged by the love of their parents! And Ricky did have strong reasons for his belief! Because not only did Sameer do everything in his power to defame Ricky and make their parents hate him and making his life a perpetual hell but he also inflicted all forms of atrocities on the powerless in order to fulfill his petty selfish desires! Ricky tried to save Sameer's victims whenever possible, but that only increased his brother's madness and made him retaliate with shocking cruelty! No…….. Ricky just couldn't go back there!
Finally, it was boarding time and Ricky found himself ushered into the plane by a smiling air-hostess. She was a pretty girl and he smiled back despite his nervousness. Once seated inside the plane, Ricky started panicking again…. Then, after sometimes the plane took off……..It was a long journey and everyone made themselves comfortable. But Ricky could not! He was too nervous with expectations…….with anxiety to be relaxed…… Several hours had passed and his family must have gone to their respective business. They shouldn't be bothered by his absence. In fact they were probably enjoying his absence! It'll be many hours before they find his note and realize what had happened! This thought made Ricky a little relaxed and he drifted into uneasy sleep………but he only tossed and turned…….
At last it was touch-down time….. There are probably not many instances, when a person who had committed no crimes was so very relieved to leave his motherland and family…….!!! And Ricky was beyond his family's reach….! He father would probably not bother the expense of arranging a search for him. Not when he himself wanted his son out of his sight and his son had gone to an unknown place in the big world! Sam and his poisoning would be great help as well! And even if they did search for him and find him, he being legally an adult was free to do whatever he wished!!! They couldn't do anything to take him back now!
As Ricky stepped on the USA soil, he could only sigh in relief………
I AM FREE!!!!
