in martial arts there is a tactical hit which can make a person permanently paralyzed.
i read about it in some books of martial arts.
and in some movies this hit used also.i dont know exact movie names.if i am right --ajay devan starer jigar movie shown this kind of martial arts hit.

this may be one possibility cvs might use in hd as they shown sameer as martial arts student.
otherwise there is no possibility to make a person paralyzed medically.

i have heard about chops which can knock a person unconscious for a certain period of time...but paralyse?? never heard of it atleast!

found dis on the net...not related to martial arts but more to pressure points:

theres many different pressure points that will make one person drop to their knees.
There are two on the sides of your necks just on the sides of your wind pipe. There are ones on each hand in the middle of thumb and index finger. There are ones on the back of your neck. thumb and middle finger that should just fit to the back of someones neck... that will make a person drop. Then they are in front of your neck..just underneath your throat.. those ones will make you fall asleep... also known as a sleeper hold. These moves are very dangerous and should not be played around with. In the case you do use them on someone it will cause a pinching achy feeling sometimes paralyze.. Be very very careful.. however if you hit the wrong one the wrong way you could knock the person out.. NOT a pretty sight

This type of martial arts is deadly. There are ways to paralyze someone without causing permanent damage, but they are only taught to people who understand how dangerous they truly are. A simple movement like this can easily accidently kill someone.

Some drugs also cause paralysis it seems: Curare, succinylcholine, vecuronium bromide. but they are not useful orally but need to be given IV. (i m not a doc; maybe the docs in this forum will shed more light on this. even i m curious to know more on this)

but about drugs this is true. Some Drugs cause paralysis & they should be given iv for its immediate effect to cause paralysis. Most drugs r toxin or poisons... Depending on dose ,paralysis can be temporary or permanant.
