Today is Wednesday. Today is the day when producers, channel heads, creatives, actors and everyone associated with the television industry, check their messages early in the morning to find out the fate of their TV shows. Yes, today is the day when TRPs get declared. And this week there has been a major change in the scheme of things. What are we talking about? Well, Zee TV has finally managed to climb up on the TRP ladder and has surged ahead of Colors, thanks to its two shows Afsar Bitiya and Punar Vivah. It's perched third in the race with 222 GRPs compared to its 210 GRPs last week (it was placed fourth). Colors, on the other hand, has slipped a place down from its last week's third position. Though it managed to gain more GRPs (201) this week (last week 193), yet it did not prove enough to move ahead of Zee TV.
Furthermore, Star Plus and Sony maintained their respective number one and two positions with 278 and 227 GRPs. Sony's Filmfare Awards proved to be a boon for the channel. Its Red Carpet ceremony, aired last Sunday, garnered 1.8 TVR while the final event earned the channel a whooping 4.6 TVR. Now, here's the list of top five shows across GECs.
Diya Aur Baati Hum (5.9), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (4.4), Saath Nibhana Saathiya (4.3), Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon (4.0) Balika Vadhu (3.8). Apart fromBalika, which is aired on Colors, all other top rated shows are on Star Plus.
Well, with this significant shift this week, it seems that the battle of TRPs between the top four GECs (Star Plus, Sony, Zee TV and Colors) have intensified like never before. The game is on, full on!!!
This week PR, HD, YMGK, CB, RMJ has good TRP , AB trp increased to 1.7 n PV started with good TRP 2.6 ...so Zee did really welll n come on top 3 spot in Channel Rating 😃
