Should Indira have stopped Sunaina?

Hello all,
I hardly saw anyone make a post on Sunaina & the child, so i decided to make 1 since I've been thinking about it lately.

My main contention: Should Indira have stopped Sunaina from aborting the child?

My thoughts;
Being a person who loves children, I definitely agree that the child is not at fault in anyway & shouldn't be aborted because he/she deserves a chance to live. But looking at the circumstances that the Sharma family is in, I do agree with Sunaina in aborting the child because she did it out of love for her child. It is true that Sunaina can take care of the child alone, like what Indira said, but being brought up in such an environment, where the child's father is a gambler who can't take any responsibility, it would definitely have some influence on the child. Not only Munna, in fact the whole family lives in their own world. The question here is no more about right or wrong, but it is about the child's future. With another child coming into the family, will there be enough for everybody? It is true that circumstances might change & the Sharma family might become rich, but we can't pin our hopes on that, right? One needs to think realistically. And the REALITY is that not only is the Sharma family poor, but they lack the most basic element anyone needs & that is care & concern for their own members. So, i feel that Sunaina should have aborted the child.

Do share your views. Feel free to agree/disagree :)

Cheers,
Samridhi

@prc_fan1..i think what indira did is right..we cannot use circumstances as reason to take a life away..even v do not have the rights to end our very own life..if a house had 10 family members..just a care n concern of 1 family member is enough to make sure the child go on the right path..in HD, indira cares n tc of ishaan..n ishaan is able to differentiate rignt and wrong..v saw that in few situation..so..i feel what indira did by stopping sunaina abortion was absolutely a wise decision.

Thanks a ton for replying!
I see where you're coming from :)
I understand the sanctity of life, BUT can 1 person, alone, always take responsibility? Ishaan is probably much better than his family members, not only because of Indira, but also because of his nature that he is born with. Remember when Munna told Ishaan to buy the ticket for the gambling, he did so naively, even though he would never do that consciously. The same way the new child can be misled & Indira or anyone else cannot always keep an eye on every action of the child. However, that's not the point. The point is that will such a family be able to take good care of the child & bring him/her up well, when they are so immersed in their own worlds?

True. But Sunaina was trying to do it out of love for her child. So that the child wouldn't have to suffer later on.

I would say it is a SUBJECTIVE DECISION for the mother. Its her choice if she wants to be the mother or not.

Indira is directly related to Sunaina. She is the sister-in-law and has every right to disapprove Sunaina's action and stop the abortion.

Other than immediate family members, everyone else's opinion is judgemental on someone's else's life and decision.

From Society point of view, it should always be disapproved as you cannot spread out message that killing your baby is good. This is very obvious judgment. One can close eyes and will know that it is not morally right.

But then there are those subject related best-fit solutions. Sometimes it suits the subjects to abort babies. For that reason doctors and paraphernalia exists.

If we want to pass judgement, they we participate like the jury does, hear on all sides and then pass judgement.

In US (NY state), I see posters for teenage girls to come and have their baby aborted if they are becoming mothers when they are still in school. So again it is subjective decision-making of the US State Govt. They might have had social statistics that tell them aborting is much better than giving the children away into the system of foster homes and the rigmarole associated with it..
