Is Hitler Didi loosely based on the 1982 Rekha starrer Jeevan Dhara? It had a very similar storyline: Truant father, wastrel brother, mother keeps crying for father, Bhabhi and young sister at home. All being supported by a single girl, who is quite a dictator at home.

Yes i agree with u 😛 ..Hitler Didi is inspired by jeevan dhaara ,
My favoruite bollywood Actress Rekha played hitler in Jeevan Dhara and my fav tellywood actress Rati is playing rough n tough hitler role in Hitler Didi.
R & R ...both are pretty, elegant , sharp features, strong voice , brilliant acting
if people shud get chance than they shud catchup with Jeevan Dhaara..Brillant perfomace by Rekha ..and in Hitler Didi, Rati is proving herself again as an extra ordinary acting n brilliant expression

I remembered Jeevan Dhara because there was a sequence there where Rekha is dancing with her sister and Bhabhi because they get the news that her father is coming back, and she even resigns but when she comes back home, she finds that her father is not ready to take the responsibility of the family.

Saw re-run of the weeks episodes today and there was a sequence where Inder was telling Jhumpa that he needs to go back so he can get a divorce. And I was thinking of how Indira would take this second betrayal by her father. And that was when it struck me, the similarity between that story and the serial. Its a good thing they are bringing back that story, the character of Rekha was really very inspiring there.

We have known it all along...but do you think the father would betray again? the man seems really sad and helpless around his daughter..am not sure on that part but i want to believe that the man might want to change but can't due to his limitations...
