firebolt means ( i think ) a broomstick that is extremely fast.. u know fire... and padfoot........ i don't know bout that

The Firebolt is Harry's broom and Padfoot is Sirius' pet name.

James = Prongs

Padfoot = Sirius

Remus = Moony

Peter = Wormtail

I always assumed that padfoot means something about having padded feet...like a dog and what was Sirius's animagus.
Similarly James was nicknamed Prongs because of the antlers on the head of the stag.
Remus was nicknamed Moony because he turned into a werewolf at full moon.
Obviously Peter was nicknamed Wormtail becuase he turned into a rat.
