The Buffalo News reports that despite the fact that no Harry Potter book has been released in an official electronic format, or perhaps because of it, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is being pirated online more widely and quickly than ever before.

Neil Blair, a lawyer for the Christopher Little Literary Agency, which represents JK Rowling, said that they have been cracking down on websites offering unauthorized Harry Potter e-books, but that "relatively speaking, compared to the print runs and the sales, it's minuscule."

I honestly can't see why someone would rather download the version than buy the book. The only reason for that would be that it's not available where they're living, and they're so eager that they have to download it. Reading the book is way better than reading it online. Reading such long stuff online gives me a headache. I tried it for the Lord of The Rings - it wasn't available in my area, and everyone was telling me I had to read it, so I decided to download it. I don't think I even finished the first chapter. (Or maybe that's because it was boring... I have the book for nearly a year, and I'm probably not past chapter three).

But yes, in the end I think it's just a miniscule portion.
