MuggleNet Job Openings:

MuggleCast Transcription:

MuggleCast is looking for 7-8 transcribers to assist in the weekly production of the show's transcripts. If interested, please e-mail transcriptjobs at staff dot mugglenet dot com with the following information:

A. General information: Name, Age, Location, AIM SN.
B. Please write two short pieces (8-10 sentences) in response to Main Discussion segments discussed on previous MuggleCast episodes. The first piece should regard a discussion heard from Episodes 1-45 while the second should be from Episodes 46-83. This piece should demonstrate strong grammar and spelling abilities and knowledge of the show without exceeding the length requirements.
C. Briefly describe your experience with writing, editing, and/or transcribing, as well as your level of education. (If you have previous transcribing experience, please explain what the transcripts were for and the type of transcription that was involved.)
D. Give a one-line description for each MuggleCaster, stating what each personality is like and how you are able to distinguish each voice.

Note: When applying for the position, please take into consideration that significant dedication is asked of all transcribers. This is a volunteer job that will require 1-4 hours of work each week, and you will be expected to meet strict deadlines each week.

MuggleCast Editing:

MuggleCast is also looking for editors for its transcripts. Please do not apply for both transcription and editing. All editors will be expected to edit a set of transcribed segments and turn them in on time every week. If you are interested, e-mail your application to emily at staff dot mugglenet dot com.

Please include the following information:

• Name.
• Age.
• Location.
• AIM SN.
• Brief description of your qualifications. (AP/IB/Honors English classes do not qualify.)
• Two small excerpts from two transcripts that are in need of editing. Please show the necessary edits in brackets. Italics and bold do not work.

TLC have a host of awesome changes to report tonight about their massive Harry Potter Image Gallery, which will change the way you use them entirely:

1. You can now log in to the Gallery using the same login and password you have for the LeakyLounge or Fan Art Galleries. If you don't currently have an account you can register for one here at the LeakyLounge. Again, this account will be active for the galleries, fan art galleries, and forum.

2. Use this account to mark your favorite albums and return to them whenever you want. Each album now has an "+Add" button in the top right corner; if you're logged in you may click that and the album will always be in your favorites list.

3. They've opened a public tagging system, which means you can add tags to images to help describe them. This means it will be easier to find these images in their search function (which has also been vastly improved), and through your help that will happen very fast.

4. You can also save your favorite tags in your profile, and return to them whenever you like to see what's new.

5. The internal layout of the categories has been improved for easier use.

Their Super Senior Staffer Alex is responsible for all of this, and we'd say we're surprised but it's just his normal way of outdoing himself. "Oh, Alex has done something awesome again. Cool. What's on TV?"

(Seriously, though: he rocks, in more ways than we have found to communicate.)
