Here's my take on the last duel between HP and Voldemort:
He's come", whispered Molly Weasley fearfully to Arthur Weasley. Her eyes were popping out, with fear. She had never met Voldemort before. Arthur pressed her hand tightly. He surveyed the grounds through the narrow window on the wall of the Entrance Hall. In the distance he saw the gates crashing down. The Ministry Aurors were retreating; they were all sprinting down to enter the relative safety of Hogwarts. Arthur surveyed the scene. A hundred wizards and nearly fifty goblins stood alongside himself. Hagrid was pacing up and down the Entrance Hall nervously. They were at the last stronghold of the wizarding world - Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This was it. Harry Potter had died, and they were all that remained of the resistance. Arthur looked at his youngest daughter Ginny, standing next to his son Ron. The two red-headed youngsters looked devastated - they had never smiled after that terrible attack in Diagn Alley where Harry had died fighting Lord Voldemort. Hermione Granger stood next to them - morose and grief-stricken. It was all over. Arthur Weasley remembered how the last piece had fallen, how the jet of green light had sped towards Harry, how the building behind Harry had collapsed and fallen, burying Harry's dead body forever. He remembered how they had retreated, leaving Diagon Alley to the mercy of the Death Eaters. It was all over. The resistance had fallen. But still, Arthur thought, they would never surrender. They would die fighting in the hope of entering a better world. Arthur smiled - he would be meeting his dead father soon. But atleast, he would die with honour - he would never surrender to the dark. The Aurors entered the Hall. The doors slammed shut behind them. The giants were wreaking havoc in the Forbidden Forest. The giants and the trolls were advancing upon Hogwarts. The dementors and werewolves were close behing the legion of trolls. The gates of Hogwarts thundered, shook and collapsed. Arthur braced himself to face the onslaught
Merciful Merlin", whispered Molly Weasley, "We will never be able to face them." The suddenly, the trees of the Forbidden Forest fell apart. A monstrous form emerged. Grawp had come. Hagrid's half-brother picked up a tree and brought it swerving down upon one of the trolls. The centaurs streamed out of the forest taking down the werewolves. The Giant Squid suddenly tossed out its many tentacles drowning several hapless trolls in the deep recesses of the Lake. Hogwarts still had a few tricks up its sleeve. The hippogriffs charged outside, side by side with the thestrals. They whirled overhead and charged screeching and tearing apart the goblins, trolls and scratching the faces of the giants who had joined the Dark Side. The Death Eaters however had reached the door of Hogwarts alongside some of the dark goblins and Dementors. The battle had reached the very doors of the most ancient establishment of wizardkind. The doors shook. Remus Lupin, Kingsley Shacklebolt and all the members of the Order were standing alongside the remnants of the Ministry, led by Rufus Scrimgeour. Scrimgeour had his wand out. The doors rattled. Scrimgeour turned to face the goblins, witches and wizards behind him. "People of the Magical World, if we fall today, we shall make it a fall to remember for the Dark. If not today, die in the knowledge that Light shall one day, triumph over the Dark. For Good and Glory!", cried Scrimgeour. The humans unsheathed their wands. The goblins braced themselves for the ultimate battle. The doors banged open. Death Eaters, dementors and goblins poured in. Arthur Weasley looked around frantically. Lord Voldemort was nowhere to be seen. This was it. As he looked around with a sinking heart, he knew the Light would lose. It was all over. And then, he took a deep breath and plunged into the battle alongside Molly, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.
