I have no words!!.. u were able to recall that time turners were destroyed in DoP, even b4 u went through JkR confession!..😲.. ur memory, observation and reasoning power is unsurpassed!.. bravo!!.. hats off to u!!.. u even assumed properly what the "extinction" and "killing" referred to!!.. unbelievable!!.. splendid!!.. marvellous!!.. 👏

Fully satisfied now...👍🏼 do make these sort of riddles more often... it was fun solving it...

but would like to point out that your hints (the initial ones 😆) gave me more questions than answers...🤣

i admit. yup never ask me for more clues..hahaha...i try to confuse more n more..yeah right..for instance,when few asked me whether its an object..i never said plain "yes"... just said it could be anything..think in all directions..lolz

im a miser in giving clues! 😆 But as no one was able to get in the end..i virtraully gave away the answer and spilled the beans and finally it donned on Roshni! good work.

so priya what shall we do about ur title...*gives a Ron-nish expression when hermione is unable to solve a poser😃😛*

i hope u are working on the nicknames! 😊

I had to read ur explanation several times to get a an idea of what was going on!..😆.. it was all very well reasoned..

But I was wondering did McGonagall own the time turner herself or did she get it exclusively for Hermione's benefit?.. because, in the book it was made clear that McGonagall had to write several letters to ministry for giving Hermione the time turner but that doesn't completely erase the possibility that McGonagall herself owned the time turner and did not order one for Hermione exclusively..while reading the book I felt that McGonagall herself owned it since it was such a rare piece , I thought it was one if her priced possessions, just like Dumblebore who had many for himself..

nope. thats quite a hyper-ventilation coz had McG owned it, it would have been with her till the end but JKR expressly says all were destroyed. Read the Screenshot. so She ordered it from the ministry only and returned to it to the ministry after its use.

Hmm...I guess so.. since this is one case that JKR cleared outside and after book , it remains a faulty topic.. bcoz while reading the book I did feel like ( may be hyper ventilation.. lol) McGonagall owned it herself..this riddle was especially tricky since it was based on such faulty part of HP world which JKR had to clear up later on..so a gap was there.. JKR took this topic seriously in later books .. so yes, logically speaking NOW that JKR has said that the TTs were destroyed, it can be inferred that McGonagall didn't own it herself..

Breakdown of the riddle :

I do not affect most living things. Accio doesnt work on living things.

I am one of the oldest in my category. One of the oldest spells known.
I aided both Potter and Crouch. Helped Harry summon the broom in the first task and Crouch to summon the Map, to locate his father when he came to Hogwarts to try to warn Dumbledore.

I first appeared in Goblet of Fire, and among other things, helped Potter get away from the Dark Lord to safety. Molly Weasley first used it in GoF. Harry used it to summon the Cup.

Fred and George Weasley would have been in a lot less trouble if I had not been used; then again, I saved them from getting whipped! The twins' Ton-Tongue Toffees were Summoned by Molly who yelled at them for it😆 but they used the spell to summon their broom to leave Hogwarts.
