Arre i know its a cryptic but with your past record your clues seem to point at the position of alphabet.

four times two is 8th position

It's not a Character
but not short of having it's own personality though😃
it's a non living being...again it depends on how you think about it..
to me it's alive and breathing😆..But for others it might be just a Thing

The Answer is "HOGWARTS"

four times two ,a puzzle for you : 4x2 = 8 which the letter "H", and the second half is saying a "hi" which starts with h

five times three , there's nothing in me : 5x3 = 15 which is the letter "O", and O looks like 0..with nothing inside

have to come back one more than half way : 15/2 + 1 = 8 and 15 - 8 = 7 which is the letter G and it's one more than half way back

i can keep you in a fix with little sway : if you lie flat the alphabet it kinda looks like a scroll going in a half spiral

although i am a prime, i am even from the last : 23rd letter is W which is a prime number but it's 4th from last (z) hence even

the way you look at it i am a flag mast: if you turn the letter to it's left it looks like a flag

i have to come back where it all started : A is the First letter hence the beginning

the beginning before it all got sorted : it is also the first letter which comes before everything is classified as vowels and consonants odd even etc..

three times six, don't get into a fix : 3x6 = 18 which is The letter R , the second half was just to Rhyme

jump ahead missing one, you are almost won : That would be letter "T" which comes after "S" and it's the penultimate letter in the word

rest in peace in the one you missed : that would be "S"

or else sure for missing ... it would be pissed : This was for Rhyming and giving an end to the puzzle

well well well i was really dumb to miss just a give away riddle. :(
beating my head now!
but that thing about flag mast well laks flag is different than flag mast. all this while i was wondering its joining to be letter "l" or maybe water opposite "d". as these resemble a flag mast meaning flag post/pole.
