Chapter 5 -- Achievements fulfiled
Harry had gone to bed the earlier night only after Hermione and Ron had finished all the snogging they had to do, though, when Harry asked Ron, he would say,
"No! We were just talking, you know!"
Harry and Hermione had duty Monday evenings, and after classes, they headed off, while Cally and Ron sat in the common room playing a game of Exploding Snap.
As Hermione and Harry were walking out, Hermione asked
"You really like her don't you?"
"Of course not, Hermione!"
"Oh puh –lease don't give me that!"
"No! Cally's just a friend!"
"When did I say Cally?"
"What?" asked Harry guiltily, "Alright, fine, I do like her, but what do I do about it?"
"Ask her out!"
"It's not that simple!"
"Oh yes it is! She says yes, or she says no… If she says yes, good for you, if she says no, too bad, she won't bother about it, I know Cally…"
"You think I should?"
"Yeah, absolutely!"
"Yeah, You know what? I will! I'm going to ask her out, after our duties…"
"That's more like it!"
Harry and Hermione had finished duty and were walking back towards the Gryffindor tower. Harry looked a little nervous, but he had a look of determination on his face. They walked in, and Ron swept over to Hermione,
"Fair maiden, would you care for a moonlit walk?"
"Ummm, Ron, It's a new moon tonight, and we can't really go out, but OK, I don't mind…"
Harry walked towards the couch, where Cally was sitting
"Ummm Hi!"
"Hi"
"I wanted to ask you something"
"Shoot"
"Cally,"
"Uh huh"
"Will you go out with me?"
"What?"
"Will you go out with me…"
"Oh!… No."
"What?"
"No"
"Why?"
"Not yet Harry"
She shut her book, "Good night!"
And went back to her dormitory.
"Well, she said Not 'yet'. So maybe that means something," He thought hopefully.
Harry later that night told Ron what had happened, to which Ron replied,
"Oh never mind! If she said 'not yet' then maybe she's just looking for the right time!"
"Yeah, yeah… I'll keep asking her out till she says yes, then"
"Yeah! Excellent! GO HARRY!!!"
"SShhhhhhhhh"
"OK, sorry, G'nite"
Days moved on, and everyday, it was the same story
Tuesday: "Will you go out with me?" "No, Harry"
Wednesday: "You free tomorrow?" "No, Harry"
Thursday: "If I asked you to be my girlfriend…" "No, Harry"
Friday: "Cally, I like you, you know!" "No, Harry"
Saturday: "Cally," "No Harry"
"Cally!"
"No!"
"What no?"
"What did you want to ask?"
"Do you want to come to Ron's place for the break because of the meeting? His family's having a get-together."
"Oh, Sorry… Yeah, OK!"
"Great!"
"Yeah"
"And Cally,"
"Yeah?"
"You free tomorrow?"
Cally got up picked up her book, and chased Harry out of the common room, with Harry laughing, and Ron rolling on the floor…
