Prologue
"I hate you, Draco! I hate you and your disgusting family"
Fury in her eyes and pain in her voice. She hated Draco and the Malfoy family. They had caused her so family so much pain and the sheer sight of them made Hermione's blood boil.
Draco grabbed her arm and pulled her as close as possible.
"But, I love you Hermione. I promise you that you will feel the same way for me one day. There is a very thin line between love and hate."
Hermione struggled to loosen his grip, she wasn't weak but he was stronger. His hands were holding her firmly.
"You're an animal, just like your brother Severus".
Draco's eyes met Hermione's. They were filled with pain, hurt and anger.
He let go of her, she moved herself away from him. She hated him being near her.
"You know nothing about me, my family and especially not Severus. Have you ever thought about it? If the stories you have been fed are true?"
"Why wouldn't they be?" Hermione scowled.
"You really are as naive and innocent as you look. Beautiful and simple. I can't help but love you."
Hermione lowered her gaze, she was still furious but now laughing at Draco's comment replied.
"Draco Malfoy? And love.? Love is a mere joke for the likes of you Draco. You nothing of love, you never have and never will."
"Your arrogance, your attitude and spitefulness add to your uniqueness. You can say as many unpleasantries as you wish but the feeling I have will burn deeper and stronger."
"Love isn't about power and strength, Draco."
"There is nothing more powerful than love and no strength can be equal to love."
Hermione couldn't understand why Draco was adamantly after her. There were many girls crazy about him. They commented on his looks, his smile and his mannerism. He was quiet, yet powerful. Gentle, yet passionate but nothing was enough for Hermione to destroy the hatred she haboured in her heart.
She thought about her father who told her how the Malfoy's had ruined every happiness of the Granger's. She thought of her cousin Harry who was orphaned at a young age. Her hatred for Draco's older brother Severus who had destroyed everything.
"I don't want to hear anything you have to say. Stay away from me. I don't ever want to see you. I hate you."
"Hermione, I love you, and one day your hatred will be reduced to nothing. We will be one. I promise that to you."
Draco Malfoy was madly in love with Hermione, it was simple clarity now that he was and always would be in love with her. He vowed to prove he was more than she could ever want and vowed to make her his.
He knew her hatred was something she had grew up with but he had loved her before he knew anything else. She meant everything to him and he would prove that to her.
