Order of the Phoenix is my favorite, koi kuch bhi kahe. 😆 Yeah it was a bit long and descriptive, but that was what made it all so special for me. I'd never felt Hogwarts come more alive than when I read this book. Hogwarts life was depicted so vividly that you could almost feel them come alive in front of your eyes with each word. If you are a Potter fanatic - which I assume most of you are - then reading a long (but not elongated or stretched-out) Potter book should be an enjoyable experience - at least it was for me.
And this book has more going on in terms of plot and character development than most of the books in the series. All the characters go through drastic changes - and this is where they start growing from the 'kids' to teens and finally step into adult shoes and face their responsibilities. People complain about Harry being too 'angst-ridden' and almost unbearable - but if you'd read the chapter "The Lost Prophecy" (where Harry finally bursts out in anger, frustration and all the emotions he'd been feeling for the whole year) - you'd know how hard was it for him to bear the burden of people calling him a liar as they go, and tolerate various forms of inhumanly tortures from the *cough* toad *cough Umbridge. In terms of plot - the book starts with the Dementor attack, then we visit the Grimmauld Place for the first time, there's the introduction to the Order, the Hearing and all the tensions that adds to it, Luna's EPIC entry ("I can see them too...you are just as sane as I am"), and Umridge's class and 'detention'. Sure the book slows down a bit after that, but before it starts getting boring, we witness Mr. Weasley's attack - and add to that all the dramas and tensions surrounding it, Snape's Worst Memory, Date with Cho, Umbridge-McGonagall fight, OWls. Then comes the epic fight in the department of Mysteries, Sirius's death, The Lost Prophecy (one of the best - of not the best - chapter ever written by Jo), Harry's confrontation with Nick, and Luna's past. I have no clue why people thinks it is "far too long" - now, that would be Goblet of Fire here.
Nothing against those who dislike the book - but just thought of explaining myself. 😆
I agree with all that you said especially the bold part.Originally posted by: PhoeniXof_Hades
