Mihir makes TV comeback

Just when he had been written off, Mihir Misra is making a small screen comeback. The actor, last seen in Zee's Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, has bagged the lead in the Percept Picture Company show Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan. The show will air on Sahara One from July 4 in the 4 pm slot.

Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan, a daily, has an adult storyline. Mihir plays a wealthy businessman's son, with a psychological barrier against getting physical with women. Debutante Snigdha, whose father will be played by Swapnil Joshi, is expecting her first baby on the show.

Shishir Sharma plays Mihir's father. Says Mihir, "My character, Vikram Singhania, is a first in Indian television. Later, he will develop negative shades. Sarang saw my earlier work — that, I guess, worked in my favour."

The programme is a result of series director Rakesh Sarang's association with Akhauri Sinha of Sahara. Sarang bounced the storyline off Sinha, who approved it.

Before joining Sahara, Sinha headed UTV's television division, overseeing the work of creative directors who handled independent television projects for various channels.

Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan is Sarang's first project with Sahara One. Sarang is also working on a new show, entitled Rang, for Zee's prime time slot; he is the overall creative and technical coordinator. The casting for Rang is in progress.
