Talli's expressions

Is it me or Talli truly looks like she is about to throw up? In all the close-up scenes she seems thirsty and she keeps on swallowing something and closing her eyes. I cannot tell if she is angry or sad. Her expressions are of anger but the dialogs are of sadness. Somehow I cannot feel compassion for this character the way it is being played. The circumstances are so awful for Talli that I should feel for her, have compassion for her but unlike all the other characters, she is the only one who seems to be ACTING, while others seem REAL. I think it is because of her expressions that she does not look genuinely victimized.
