I needed a bowl of icecream to collect myself to write something today. Anyway one more of such an episode can burn the calories away.!!

Kesar with Gulaal

It was yesterday's continuation. He presented his case in such a way that it made Gulaal think for a minute.

Kesar had clarity in his thoughts and speech
Kesar with Revjibhai

Instead of being sad himself he consoled a father by being confident and assuring that Gulaal will have to return to her home and its just a matter of few days.

Kesar was serene and confident.

Kesar with Pannba (Dining Hall)

He was tired; he was obedient when Pannba dragged him. Sudha calling him a "naag" saddened him. She sent him on a guilt-trip going to the extent of using strong words to "curse" him. It hurt him when she said he would never find peace in his life. He was tearful. When Talli's "generosity" with her "Kasam" was highlighted, he was already guilt-ridden.

Kesar was hurt and sad.

Kesar with Talli

Any person can have ups and downs in life. No man can be happy without a friend, nor be sure of his friend till he is unhappy. Blessed is the man who has such a friend where you don't have to weigh thoughts or measure words and the worst solitude is to be destitute of such sincere friendship.

Kesar was guiltier seeing Talli's "care". He pleaded to just look straight at him once, to understand. She was hysteric and came down to blows. He was desperate to at least have her friendship and it was evident in the way that he said"Teekh hai Talli…teekh hai". Kesar who used to make Talli shiver in his anger was reduced to such a state for the one mistake that he did.
A good friend sees the first tear, catches the second and stops the third. She was not even worth a friendship. She would never understand that he values her friendship that he goes to the extent of almost selling himself again, yet he had the conviction to tell her that it would be deception because he would always love Gulaal. Wish this girl realizes how lonely Kesar is and she is not even being the friend she claimed she was to him.

The distressed mind was crying out loud that no one understood him.

Kesar was distressed and depressed being devoid of love and friendship too.

Lonely Kesar

His guilt about hurting Talli and having wronged her, Sudha's curse for a life devoid of happiness, rejection from Gulaal, non-supportive parents and family has made him more vulnerable into believing that he was indeed cursed. The sleeplessness, the pacing around, the palpitations, the worry, the hurt, pain, and uncertainty was all due to his disturbed state of mind. So lonely he was nodding his head in denial, lending a support to his head by his hand that he was speaking to himself why it was happening to him. Even then he is asking Kyun mere saath aisa ho raha hai Gulaal??

It's her and only her who is the root cause for all his problems. He wants to live. He wishes to and is frustrated that he can't if she does this to him. That is what happens when one suppresses all the disturbing thoughts for so long. Especially when there is no one to lend an ear to your woes and worries, at one point you break down yelling out the word that remains in your heart. For Kesar it is Gulaal, his powerhouse of energy like a mitochodrion to a cell, rich source of ATP required for all the cellular regulatory/functional processes.

Kesar is almost an emotional wreck

A mention about other scenes from the show:

Sudha's behavior and usage of such strong and powerful words to instill a "curse" left me dumfounded. I had also written that it could be a pick from a low budget movie. But I realize such happenings and use of such language is part of the rural vocabulary, the rural background based on their belief and faith about "curse" and "Naag" and the swearing on "Ann"(morsel of rice) are all part of the belief system in such a rural background.

The talk between the father and daughter was a very beautiful scene where a father tried to advise his daughter about life in general. They should have done this long time ago. They should have given her the time to grieve. Grieving and mourning is a healthy process towards healing, emotionally and spiritually. Why they did not realize this for 10 years is unknown. Actually if they believed in this Deeyarvatu, the process of preparing their daughter to move on in life should have happened long time back. Understood that they did not know how Kesar would take it when he grew up, but they should have helped her in the process of healing her over her loss of Vasant.

I like the statement" However beautiful our past could have been, we can never make it our present". Very beautifully termed and for personal reasons, it was quite nostalgic to me.

Kesar ka kya kare lol
He is an emotional wreck, that you feel so much for and also then you want to tell him to get up, and gain strength, fight for his love in a non-desperate way, and a selfless way as well
I dont think its going to get Gulaal the way he is going about in the precap - but i think it will somehow atleast make her see how he is, unless she terms it as zidd, which is what other ppl would say... what a tamasha he is making and so on, but we know why Kesar is like the way he is, even though i wish he would stand up and be patient in a way
I so agree that the father and daughter scene was the best and the dialogues as well, esp the one you mentioned 😊

Neil is performing excellently well as is required of Kesar the character.
But considering if Kesar were real, I would suggest that at 22/23, there are better things to do than rot or wither in a one-sided love. I have heard somewhere, can't recollect where. But it seems one of the distinguished international football players of his times was asked about his evergrowing female fan following and he had commented :
Men should nver run behind women, they would never give a care, instead prove their merit in whichever field and the whole world will follow you.
Applies to Kesar. Collect himself, keep aside(not forget) his love, work towards some merit and make everyone stand up and take notice.

Thanks for compiling the episode so well Mey! You categorize the interactions, and conclude their outcomes with much precision.

ps: The link you just PMed me? It's not working for some reason - is it blocked in certain countries?

It works in India, here in UAE and US too. It is one of the clean ones.
