Neil's best: Kesar vulnerable

KESAR'S NOTE

Regretting his behavior, his anger, his resentment, his inability to live up to everyone's expectations, Kesar is helpless in feeling dejected about the entire scenario. The only thing he wishes for is life to be just the same as it were 10 years ago and he expects that only from Gulaal.

The note he had addressed to Gulaal was nothing but his heart speaking. Why Dushyant tore it up is a mystery.

KESAR AND DUSHYANT

I loved the way the talk was not rushed and Dushyant took his time to make Kesar understand. He was rough and tough with him first, he was emotional, he spoke about his childhood, he brought in the topic about rumors, he explained that he went to seek apology, he tried to make him understand Gulaal's state of mind and finally gave him the good news (that he so wanted to hear) that Gulaal cares for him that she is fasting for him.

Kesar is so vulnerable. He is stunned in the way Dushyant took over the bus. His reaction was confusion and shock at how he handled the situation. He was calm yet firm but he seemed more vulnerable when Dushyant alerted that he may give him two slaps and drag him home. Kesar seemed surprised when Dushyant told about his childhood, a little emotional as well. He looked at Dushyant in a manner as though he was fighting his own heart and brains as to believe what? To believe the impression he has about Dushyant or to believe this Dushyant who seemed genuine in his emotions about his relation with young Kesar.

Neil and Sushant Singh were fabulous in this scene.

Neil's eye language and Sushant Singh's dialogue delivery were so good. When Dushyant says he is unable to see Kesar so restless, ask what's on your mind, only then you will get answers, Kesar's eyes also reflected the quest for answers to several questions. I really loved these two actors timing and chemistry in their conversation. I really pitied Dushyant's condition as well as Kesar's.

It looked like the two brothers were having a heart-to heart conversation though Dushyant did all the talking. Well Neil doesn't require dialogues to give us the same feeling that Kesar was speaking too. When Dushyant slowly shifted the topic about the rumors, his resentment slightly resurfaced but Kesar was unsure when Dushyant agreed that his anger was justified. When Dushyant told him that he had gone to Gulaal to seek apology, Kesar was hurt for the misinterpretation. Just for that minute, he was regretful about his misunderstanding. Again he was confused about which face of Dushyant to believe.

When he mentioned Gulaal, his emotions were raw. In spite of the slap he got from Gulaal, the thoughts about Gulaal can still moisten Kesar's eyes. When Dushyant says that Gulaal is lonely, he hurts within all the more. The last thing he heard was Gulaal was fasting for his long life and health. That has totally softened Kesar right in that minute. That is all that he expects. Gulaal's care and concern. That exquisiteness that he so expects from her is all that matters to him.

But unfortunately, his realization is short-lived. When Paanba told him to lay aside all doubts, he believed her. Then seeing Dushyant, the same thoughts haunt him. Now Dushyant spoke to him and he has decided to return home. I wonder when Kesar will finally bury his anger and resentment and whose words will make him believe about Gulaal's actual intentions. He was reading from one of those letters in which he said that if Gulaal says, that would be the truth. So unless he hears about the whole story from Gulaal herself, Kesar is going to remain this way with his emotions at extreme every now and then.

Additional points I also like the sequence where Kesar gets all so self-conscious about the issue getting publicised when Dushyant mentions Motaba and Paanba in front of the bus conductor. He is all so bemused at the way all were thrown out of the bus, actually this is the first time Kesar is seeing this image of Dushyant after he has returned. Its actually sad seeing Kesar feeling that if he leaves, the househol will experience peace.
Kesar seems to be analysing Dushyant's truthfulness about his feelings as he was discussing his childhood, especially when Dushyant mentions Vasant.I guess Kesar did take note of the fact that Dushyant is not able to take his name and Gulaal's together even while hinting at the village gossip.
That was a sweet and gradual dawning on Kesar about the significance of Gulaal fasting for him on Vatsavitri puja because the reaction was a shocked surprise at the mention of the vrat compared to the initial tears of realisation when Dushyant mentioned that Gulaal always prayed for him.

"The note he had addressed to Gulaal was nothing but his heart speaking. Why Dushyant tore it up is a mystery."

- notice that Dushyanth tears up 2 pages not 1 page, though he reads from only one page - I wonder of this holds any significance?

I agree - the scene on the bus was also a good one - it was good to watch Dushyanth-Kesar actually interact -
very on the lines of the Giga-Motaba scene on the terrace from the episode befor. I have a niggling suspicion that it will be Dushayanth who ends up uniting Kesar-Gulaal (unless of course the CVs mess that bond up) - he might not allow the Deeyarvattu to break - now that he is the panch.

I hope Dushyanth does this sooner than later - I would like the track of Talli's delusions to come to an end soon and one of Gulaal's change to start -something that is more pleasing than this embarrassing simpering from Talli and less angst driven (i.e., Kesar's perennial silent rage).

D ripped that up coz he didnt want anyone seeing that letter, if anybody had it would tell them Kesar has left home, so he just took that page and so on - thats what i got
Its only Gulaal who can make him react and bring deep emotions out and we saw it, and the surprise when he foundf out she is fasting for him, thats all he needed - that she cares, that he is important to her to do that and so on
Even when i was watching that exact moment when D tells him he needs to ask questions to get his answers, i instantly thought there is only person who can give him answers and so on - and it only one person he wants to ask questions to - until Kesar doesnt he wont ever live in peace entirely and thats why each and every thing effects him connecting to Gulaal and so on, and like he says he still has that bitterness and hate in him from 10 yrs that he's carried around that doesnt leave him etc
Trifolia - yes D has the last word on the deeyavatu seeing as he is the head of the village, he cant break it or notm but if it does break he will do it for Gulaal coz she wants it and the reason behind it is Talli-Kesar as of now...

@Trifolia, Thanks for giving me a glimmer of hope.
Yes that is a possibility of Dushyant as Mukhiya does not support Gulaal to break the Deeyarvatu.
More so because for once I want Gulaal to regret making Dushyant the head and think...
Oho, Dushyant is against me? Meri Billi aur mujhko meaow??!!
And for once I want Kesar to feel happy that Gulaal was right in making Dushyant the head.
Jokes apart, I feel none should interfere in Kesar and Gulaal's affairs and they better own up to their feelings for each other without a third party interference.
I feel Dushyant is on his way to confession because the Starforum has started a vote asking if we viewers feel that Dushyant would confess his misdeeds in front of family. In fact in the episode where Motaba decides to do that after learning about Deeyarvatu, a repentant Dushyant way back then was speaking within his mind that he would not allow the break up of Kesar-Gulaal Deeyarvatu and also requested Gulaal to not take a decision under any circumstantial pressure.

Meysimi -Ooops I think I just wrote similar post in Lennie's thread but from D's pov. Sorry, I feel like a cheat😡. God you are a gifted writer so jealous, well done!👏👏👏👏
The actors did a fabulous job! As u said Neil without any words does a divine job and the chemistry between Sushanth was wow. Seems Neil is a very reactive chemical, whoever he is with he put the screen on fire.
Shushanth's portrayal was fabulous as the guilty, regretting and caring; all was very evident in his acting. Just few days back I complained about not seeing Dushanth's regret and guilt but thank god I was so wrong. He looked so honest that he couldn't even face Kesar at times when he was talking about Vasanth and Gulaal. On the other hand Kesar also had a chance to see a different face of Dushanth which adds more confusion. But when the truth is revelled it would be much easier for him to accept Gulaal's decision as well.
During this convo, I felt that D is kind of making an effort to cover up Vasanth's place in Kesar's life as he controls his guilt.
About the paper tearing off- I too think, so nobody else get to know about Kesar deciding to run away.

Thanks Surithy for the compliment. Thanks for your input about the scenario. I would also want to know about your take on Gulaal's POV here in this thread.
