KESAR WITH MOTABHA

Kesar cannot get over the fact after seeing Dushyant enter Gulaal's room. He does not want to be at home. He decides to leave home, he was angry. His father stopped him at the wrong time. He came down fast through the steps, slowed down seeing his dad, and lowered his head down to quietly sneak out of home without drawing his attention. And when he did, he was doubtful to stay there to hear what not. His annoyance was obvious in his "Why, about what, what change in me" as his dad continued his accusations regarding his behavior. He was calm when he replied what is there to fear, what's right for others need not be the same for him. He made it clear with a sigh that he was not in the frame-of-mind and unwilling to speak anything at all.

His annoyance aggravated. He was feeling ashamed as he was reminded of the night he was drunk and his father goes on to tell him that he isn't a bit ashamed of what he did. What an irony that his dad can't even take a deep look into his son's eyes for once.

He was annoyed at the truth he knew. He can't confess but he can't tolerate being questioned for small things. He tried to explain in not so many words that there are larger issues within home that goes unnoticed. He can't get himself to even mention those allegations.

When his dad was approaching him, Kesar did not want to remain there. He was confused already, he was hurt over the happenings, he was frustrated, he was helpless as he could not openly talk about those issues, and he was in no mood for any more talks. It showed in his body language when he did not reciprocate or respond to his father's display of affection. The more Motabha held his shoulders, the more he held himself away from his dad as though if given a chance he would just quickly disappear from sight.

His dad continued his advice. Poor guy, mention the name of Vasant, and Kesar needs to take a deep breath by closing his eyes to that realization of always being expected to be Vasant-like. Manoj Joshi is a good actor. He took Vasant's name in such a way we could feel the warmth and affection for his deceased son.

The aggravating frustration for always being expected to fulfill Vasant's responsibilities was a very tense moment. When he said out loud "Vasant Ba", it showed his frustration over his inability to match Vasant's standards in any ways. He could take that too, but the minute he gets to hear some appreciation about Dushyant who seems to be able to partly perform like Vasant, all the held-up, bottled up emotions go astray. That came as a powerful assertion when he charged Motabha for trying to find Vasant in him, that he can't be one and he does not wish to either. Seeing his dad's shocked face, Kesar for a minute was surprised at himself over that announcement but again his frustration was so volatile, that he yelled out to him to stop searching for Vasant in him.

His main problem was about other's ignorance of major conspiracies that remained hidden but instead were set out to find more flaws in him. He was frustrated and annoyed with the saintly images people were portraying. It was largely a hit at Dushyant and partly Gulaal.

An unwanted interference by Dushyant was the last straw. Like them, Kesar does not know to hide his feelings for long that it turned out in an ugly fashion at Dushyant where he alerted him to stop interfering and that he has lost that right that of an elder, many years ago.

Motabha supporting him was again a major blow. I like the scene where Kesar stood between Vasant's photo and Dushyant. How beautifully it was taken showing Kesar's inability to forgive his brother's murderer and it showed his love for his deceased brother too. For Kesar, no one can take Vasant's place.

Nothing is actually what it seems, he too is not like how he seems. This is what Kesar told the family. He dared himself to say that straight to Dushyant too.

That was a wrong time for Gulaal maiyya to interfere. When the whole family is just listening to Kesar, madam has to show her rights of being the goddess of the family who could go on to slap him for the sake of Dushyant. That came as an utter shock and disbelief to him and he was plainly hurt.

Neither Kesar nor any of us viewers can believe that she actually said that "Kaafi galtiyon pe parda daal chuke hain". Now did I miss something in the show that Kesar tried something like kidnapping, forcing himself on any woman or even murdering??

Kesar was visibly hurt because he knows what major things she has hidden from all and she accuses him of not supporting the family during bad times. Rising anger, disgust at her outrageous behavior, Kesar walks off.

COMEDY OF THE SLAP SCENE: When Motabha asks Gulaal to stop advising, she exercises her rights over him more than his parents. And no one has the nerve to tell Gulaal that what she did was wrong.

Other than Neil's scene, the scene in the episode that touched me today was when Motabha tells his brother that when a child trips over his steps and falls, the mother hurts more. But when a grown up son is seen faltering or tripping over his steps, it directly hits at the father's heart. Motabha is also flawed in his over expectations from Kesar but still the scene was touching.

Like regulars who would be touched by Gulaal's scene with Dushyant, I could not relate to that. Sushant Singh was very good in this scene where he controlled his guilt and hurt without exaggerating. Gulaal's declaration that she could not forgive Dushyant was mere words to me. Gulaal should show that inability in her actions. Had she been, she would react differently with Dushyant in other's presence and absence. About the B-day bash, if she wanted to please JK, she could have asked Sudha or Paanba to get it organized. Any normal woman can't.

Ya u r absolutely right 😲, dushyant's biggest sin of killing his own brother, us pe she can put curtains n kesar's mistakes should be shouted out in front of everyone, how in the world can anyone justify it 😲, ok now they can say that this is because Kesar is young..., so what? Kesar is 22 right now n when Dushyant killed vasant n did this crime 😡 he was like of 50 years or what? Dushyant was also around his early 20s, like may be 23, or 24, so this all could be kept a secret so that the family should be saved from breaking n Kesar small small mistakes (not crimes) should be spoken in front of everyone n even he should be punished like this... wow... what justice this is...😳

It's true though, gulaal and the family have covered many of kesars mistakes and it was gulaals anger and frustration which led her to say that, becuase the whole family has so much expectations from him and he has so many responsibilities to fulfill and so far has done nothing but cause trouble,
Now did I miss something in the show that Kesar tried something like kidnapping, forcing himself on any woman or even murdering??
yeah kesar didn't do that, but other things kesar has done are bad, kesar is special to gulaal and more important in her life that dushyant, which is why she is trying to bring him to the right track and mentioned that they have already covered all of his mistakes. there's no need for her to say anything about dushyant because she doesn't care about him, he's not important in her life, he's merely a brother-in-law or something to her, she's not interested in telling everyone about his deeds because it would break everyones heart and no one would be able to take that trauma, she mentioned today as well that she still hasn't forgiven him and you know what she shouldn't either, but what she said and did today was right, because they've all got high expectations for and from kesar and expect a lot from him, so when kesar was saying all that stuff today, it hurt gulaal to see that once innocent kesar now being disrespectful to the whole family- she's just trying to make kesar understand, she doesn't give a crap about dushyant so she's not even going to mention that bigra hua olad because he's not worth it, but kesar is...

there are no hidden feelings...its same feelings with added emotions...right now gulaal doesnt have wifey loves for kesar...but still he is not the same kesar as she says if it is so y she cant met her eyes with kesar ???...y she is suddenly so concious infront of him ???, she cant serve breakfast to him ???, she always put that pullu on her head wen kesar is around ??? ...y she is maintaining distance from him ??? y she questioned him that y did he came to her room late night..???...if gulaal thinks he is the same kesar she would not do all those things this is done wen a girl is infront of a boy, wen a woman is infront of man not a girl infront of a kid...
