Gulaal asks Jamna why she is talking in such a manner, Jamna says that she saying the right thing, in fact the family should have thought of this a long time back. Jamna tells Gulaal that she will have to accept that Kesar is her husband. Gulaal tells her that she knows perfectly well what her relationship with Kesar is, and everyone here knows under what conditions the relationship was created, she doesn't view Kesar in that manner. Jamna says it is not just about her, it is also about every person who is connected with Gulaal, it is about the family, granted that Gulaal made that decision to save the family, but today that same decision is the cause of the family's shame. Jamna's husband asks her to keep her tongue under control, Jamna responds that he doesn't care about his sons but she does, and she will not watch Dushyant's life getting ruined due to everyone there. Gulaal is shocked. Paan Baa asks what does this have to do with Dushyant, Jamna tells her to go ask the village what Kesar's personal relationship with Gulaal has to do with Dushyant, because of Gulaal's decision to stay away from Kesar everyone is looking down on their family. Gulaal looks completely shocked. Jamna demands to know what Gulaal would prefer, to have a relationship with Kesar who she did deeyarvattu with, or be in an illegitimate relationship with Dushyant in the village's eyes. Gulaal is completely taken aback hearing this, everyone else is enraged.
Mota Bha yells out Jamna's name and asks if she knows what she is saying. Jamna responds sarcastically that she doesn't know anything that goes on in the family, she has to hear it from outsiders and that also such embarrassing things, everyone in the village is talking about this and saying all kinds of things, that Gulaal supported Dushyant in becoming Head because there is an illegitimate relationship between the two. Gulaal feels very hurt hearing this, has tears in the eyes and goes to her room. Mota Bha asks Jamna to stop, he cannot tolerate any more insults about Gulaal, despite knowing the actual situation how could she speak in this manner. Jamna questions that he is worried about Gulaal but not her son, Dushyant, but she will not let her son get insulted, she wants to see Dushyant married and his life flourish, not in humiliation. Her husband asks her to bot take things out of proportion, these are just rumors and will die in a few days, and the bitter things she is saying will always stay in people's hearts. Jamna tells him that truth is always bitter, but it is best if everyone accepts the truth. People will stop talking only if Gulaal and Kesar start living like wife-husband. They can stop one person from saying things, not the entire village. (I am probably in the minority here, but I like Jamna and understand her plight. She lost her oldest best daughter to death, cannot see her younger daughter, one son was in prison for 10 years and the other is working for others and ignoring his own life. She wants to see at least one child well-settled. I am surprised Mota Bha allowed Devika's marriage in such a family).
Mota Bha asks her why after 10 years all of a sudden will the villagers start saying such things, the villagers have always respected and supported the family, what happened suddenly. Jamna asks him why he is asking her, during election Mota Bha should have nominated Dushyant, instead he nominated Gulaal and look at what happened, Gulaal rejected Mota Bha's decision and herself put forward Dushyant's name, they themselves gave the villagers and opportunity to talk, why fault someone else, now they will have to rectify the error, there is only one way to do this... Paan Baa interrupts and says that Jamna is right. Mota Bha yells "no", nothing like that will happen, he will not do anything without Gulaal's agreement, he trusts the villagers completely, these rumors are the work of someone else, had the villagers wanted to talk they would have done so years back, they will not do anything under pressure from someone else's act. Jamna says she doesn't care, the villagers are talking about it, Mota Bha insists that he will not give in to pressure and join a relationship that he himself has never accepted. Mota Bha continues that Dushyant is intelligent and will never give in to such rumors. Jamna continues arguing but Mota Bha asks her to stop and that she should not remove another word from her lips about this, if the fire's smoke come towards one's own house one should not give it more air. Jamna feels furious.
Gulaal talks to Vasant in her room. She tells him that not for one moment did she separate his thoughts from her mind, why did he leave her all by herself. She weeps and tells him that she is not able to manage anything, the family, Kesar, or herself, she doesn't know what people want from her. Mota Bha enters and asks her to control herself, she says she cannot control herself, Vasant promised a lifetime together and he left her to deal with this humiliation alone. She continues that she did everything that Vasant wanted her to for the village and family, and what did he do, leave her alone. She says that he promised in front of everyone while marrying her that she is his responsibility, but he left her. (Very touching scene, great cast). Mota Bha tells her that she has fulfilled all her responsibilities very well. Gulaal tells him that his son has not fulfilled his responsibilities. Mota Bha agrees, hugs her, and tells her that along with Vasant he too is at fault.
Paan Baa is in the kitchen thinking of Jamna's words. Kesar enters, sits beside Paan Baa, and point blank asks her what is Gulaal's relationship with Dushyant. Paan Baa tells him that she expected this to reach Kesar's ears, but she did not expect him to ask her, what he heard is wrong but his asking this question is even more wrong because it indicates that he suspects Gulaal. She tells him that the villagers spreading these rumors are not her family, the people in the house are her family, so having this thought in their mind is wrong, in fact it is humiliating for them because they must be responsible for Gulaal's insult. Had Gulaal decided to go to her parent's place after Vasant's death she would not have had to see this day, had Gulaal wanted she could have left years back and lived a better life, but she chose to sacrifice her happiness for the family. Kesar is in tears hearing this, and looks remorseful. Paan Baa tells him that they can never repay her, but they can at least support her during bad times. Kesar realizes his mistake and goes to leave. Paan Baa tells him that when a finger is raised against a woman's character, nothing can be more shameful, he should remove such useless rumors from his mind, Gulaal listens to Kesar, he should support her. Kesar leaves.
Kesar is on the terrace thinking about Paan Baa's words. Talli comes there and tells him that nobody was telling her why Gulaal is different today and is not talking to anyone, she asked Sudha and found out. Talli tells Kesar that she is worried about Gulaal, the villagers are saying all kinds of things about her, Gulaal must be so wounded, whenever anyone had problems Gulaal found a solution, now today when she is hurt Talli doesn't know what to do, Gulaal must be so lonely. Kesar feels bad and leaves.
Kesar walks towards Gulaal's room when Dushyant comes there and stand's outside Gulaal's door. He knocks the door and calls out to her. Kesar flashbacks to the gossiping women. Gulaal opens the door and Dushyant goes inside, Kesar's mind is filled with suspicion and flashbacks to all the words everyone said about Gulaal and Dushyant's relationship.
Precap: Kesar tells Mota Bha angrily that he wants that Kesar should think like Vasant, eat, think, behave like Vasant. Dushyant asks Kesar if this is any way to talk to Mota Bha. Kesar yells "stop" to Dushyant and holds his palm in front of him, and continues that its better if Dushyant doesn't say anything to Kesar, Dushyant has lost this right. Gulaal turns Kesar around and slaps him. Everyone is shocked, and Kesar is surprised that Gulaal slapped him. (I cannot believe she slapped him for such a small thing. I am more and more irritated by Gulaal and her behavior. She refuses to talk to Kesar and avoids him instead of dealing with things, pushes Talli on him knowing full well how annoyed he gets with her, and now this slap? Kesar misbehaved with Dushyant but didn't do anything to get a slap. He is grown up now, and whenever she says things nicely in a mature manner he does understand. I cannot see Gulaal and Kesar together, she is just too much).
