Why I want Kesar-Gulaal...

[I'm basically pasting what I said in another topic but I thought I'd make a topic too]

If someone told me the basic gist of each angle i.e. Vasant-Gulaal, Dushyant-Gulaal, Kesar-Gulaal and Kesar-Talli and was told to choose which one I want to see as a viewer, I'd automatically be curious by Kesar and Gulaal's relationship.

1.Vasant-Gulaal: As I said, no hurdles or anything to suggest that this will be a love story to be remembered. They were beautiful while they lasted, nothing more...nothing less.

2. Kesar-Talli: Childhood friends turning lovers. How many times have we seen that? 'Gulaal'- the show was not made to show a clichd story like that.

3. Dushyant-Gulaal: I know some find them interesting but the heroine marrying her husband's killer has happened before too. Once again nothing unique there and to be honest the way the creatives have handled their angle is truly admirable. They have a certain respect for one another and Dushyant doesn't even think of her that way anymore, he respects her too much to actually have those feelings he once used to.

Now coming to Kesar and Gulaal...

Something never seen before. This bond has been given many different tags but mostly everyone in the forum because their dynamic is so hatke to anything else seen on Indian TV. When she took his responsibility, there weren't any romantic feelings from either party (for obvious reasons) but the depth of their relationship has always been so strong that you knew, in the future something could happen with their angle. I don't think Kesar is having these 'arousing' feelings(or whatever you want to call it) for Gulaal out of nowhere. She has always been the woman for him and innocently he always found her beautiful. Now he's a grown man, she's still so perfect so why would he be attracted to another girl? Gulaal's character is so intriguing yet so warm, you automatically want to respect her even though she doesn't demand anything. When a relationship has no clear definition, you know something could happen here. Kesar has been the only other man Gulaal has loved unconditionally after Vasant which is why there is always potential for her to cross that boundary. It will be gradual but that's what makes the story interesting right? It's not the conventional pairing. They seem wrong yet so right for each other. I'm not a shallow person who just enjoys GK because they 'look' good together. Chemistry is much more than just having that physical chemistry. Even on paper, Gulaal and Kesar are like a poetry...!

Final Note: The only reason this forum has become active and a great place of debate is because of Kesar-Gulaal. Something which the other 3 pairings could not do..

I like Dushyant the character and the person who plays it. So many shades and I think the range has been beautifully portrayed.

I like how you put that. 😳 She has unconsciously written her destiny with Kesar. At the time of the deervatu she had no idea that their relationship could turn in to something more.

@vasundhara: I don't remember a child marrying an adult in KumKum! You cannot compare the two shows barring the devar part but that's not the crux of the Kesar-Gulaal's story.
