I'm just continuing my analysis from last post. Was not sure what to put on the title/ Thought I should start another thread so the other ones discussion can go on. http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1656295
I was trying to avoid watching this episode until I watched all the old ones but I have lots of catching up to do...and another part is on its way.
I am going to try to be unbiased as possible in the analysis. But my lack of knowledge from the old part will probably affect my analysis.
The first main reaction to note is Kesar reaction to his nephew asking about Dushyant. He obviously doesn't like his nephew's closeness to Dushyant for obvious reasons (his brother's murderer and all). But I was a little nervous on how he dragged Rohan away from Dushyant, a little too forceful. It is expected that Rohan will be closer to Dushyant he's been seeing him since birth. There was a mix of jealousy when Kesar practically shouted at Rohan to come back to him'
When he took the necklace off Rohan I was little on the edge because I really didn't want him to make a childish comment. I find Kesar dialogues intriguing. He's words seems to have double meaning to them. When he said about spoiling kids'I firstly got the impression that he was talking about Dushyant being spoilt hence killed his brother cause he wanted more (But I'm not sure if that's right and my lack of back story I'm not sure exactly how much Kesar knows). Then he went on about boarding school. And everyone saw how bitter he was about being sent to boarding school. He highlighted a spoilt kid'and I'm sure he didn't think of himself was a spoilt kid'he is angry that he got punished for nothing whereas Dushyant killing his brother got no punishment. And I think this is some of his bitterness and angry with Gulaal is'she was the closes one to him but she could not understand him and let him be taken to boarding school whereas she supported Dushyant. Looks like he is in full revenge mood'not sure his inner feelings about Gulaal will win over his anger atm.
Kesar's character is giving me mix feelings'I'm not sure if he's good or bad or can be said to be on the grey side atm due to his misunderstanding.
Btw where on earth is Motaba in the celebration? Still embarrassed and recovering?
Dushyant was shocked at Kesar's behaviour like everyone else. But note point how he wouldn't take Kesar mum sorry cause shes older and shouldn't be apologising to him. I don't really know how Dushyant changed but I see a new Dushyant here from the mad man I saw in the random old episodes I saw. There was no bitterness towards Kesar in his words/actions but a general concern. Kesar looked like he was going to come and beat him up on his words lol😆 but after Gulaal's statement and Dushyant giving the necklace...he kind of left it and went away..
Gulaal is having a very hard time digesting the new Kesar. Even though he has grown up she's still looking for the sweetness and all she can see is bitterness. She just can't seem to understand why he is so bitter and at her. Because she always thought that Kesar knew her and understand her feelings better then anyone. What happened now?...
Jamuna is right that Kesar is an adult now (Btw why did she say 10 years? Has it not been 8? Or is it my bad translation?) and should be treated like one. And everyone shouldn't forgive him on the status that he is a kid. Paanmaa was right in her own way Kesar is the youngest in his generation and also a child never grows up in the eyes of a parent'and Kesar has been away for years she didn't see the growth'he is still little Kesar to her.
Moving to the scene with Talli and Kesar. Talli comes to see Kesar and cheers him up. Talli has potential of being a good person whom Kesar can be with and forget everything around him and relax and be himself. Since Kesar has no ill feelings about her she could be the mid person between him and his family/Gulaal. Talli tried to get close to Kesar but hes not having any of it. Its clear that Kesar sees Talli as a friend and nothing more.
Talli points out that it's nice to have the old Kesar back (he's in there somewhere) and not to be too angry at the family especially Gulaal she missed him the most. Maybe she could have asked him alittle and try to understand why he's so angry? But she didn't think to ask' and don't think Kesar would have liked her to ask too.
Kesar was like whatever smile when Talli was going on about his family missing him but Kesar facal expression on Gulaal missing him was a mix of lots of expression. There was a kind of wildness in his eyes, one could look at it and see a psycho. But I think there is the anger there and his too much into his resentment. But he closed his eyes and remembered Gulaal statement his facial expression softened. He is having his inner war about Gulaal inside of him. Also trying to tell himself that he is grown up now and can't be a child.
Gulaal lost in her own thought about Kesar and Paanmaa asking. Even thought Gulaal is very concern about Kesar she reassures Paanmaa that everything will be ok, I don't think she actually believes herself that everything is going to be ok and is very worried about how to break Kesar's bitterness.
There is not jealously in Gulaal that Kesar brought a present for Talli (she does not see him like a partner at this point, we will just have to wait and see if that will change). I don't think she would be upset at all if Kesar didn't get her anything just along as he talked to her and was close to her like he was before.
When Talli talks about food and winning a man over by food, Gulaal as a ray of hope in her eyes. Not that she wants to win his love like Talli but she is hoping that he will notice all his favourite food and it will bring back his childhood memories, bring back his sweetness and he will acknowledge that everyone did indeed miss him and remember everything about him. And I'm guessing Kesar liked Gulaals cooking before.
When Talli is serving Kesar her sweets she makes a point to tell Kesar to eat it, Kesar expression and reply is like ok whatever. (He really doesn't care).
When Jamuna states that Kesar might not like things in the village anymore. Gulaal, the lady in green (who is she? Gulaals mother?) and even Kesar notice that she is talking about not liking Gulaal. Again Kesar dialogues are very interesting, it has two meaning to it. He made it loud and near that he thinks of Gulaal differently.
Gulaal gets a ray of hope when Kesar eats the food. And Kesar definitely noticed that it was Gulaal's cooking, when he saw her smile, he automatically took the opportunely to tell Gulaal that he has changed. He wasn't just talking about his food taste changing, his views on people (Gulaal) have changed too. And he knew Gulaal would be hurt with his comment...and how he keep looking at her when saying the comments to see her reaction.
Talli was a little concern about Gulaal and Kesar not liking her food but that concern was forgotten the minute Kesar went for her sweet. And the happy smile when Kesar complemented her food. She automatically turned to Gulaal with her smile to show Gulaal shes happy (little insensitive). But Gulaal was ofcourse more worried about Kesar bluntly hurting her. Tallis happy that Kesar is liking her food...everything in her world is about Kesar so an automatic smile appears. Shes fine maybe need to look around alittle more and see whats really happening.
I'm not sure that Kesar knows that hes playing one woman against another...he's too busy trying to hurt and show Gulaal that he has changed.
That's what I gathered from that episode. Feel free to add your comments or/and your views , Just added some pictures of expressions that kept me wondering. Its probably clear from my analysis that I find Kesar's character very interesting.
