Part 2
âGuddan a-and Vi-ikram!â
Akshat repeated shocked and then snapped out of his stupor a second later.
âAre you out of your mind?â He almost shouted forgetting that he had never used that tone with Antara.
âWhatâs with this reaction, Akshat?!â Antara asked, a little offended.
Realization dawned and Akshat let out a sigh. He could not even snap at Antara properly because she was not used to his moods whereas if it would have been Guddan she would have retorted with ten times added ferociousness.
âWhat I mean to say isâŠ.that Guddan and VikramâŠ.â Akshat trailed, Vikramâs name sounding almost cringe worthy with Guddanâs.
âThey are not suited for each other!â He finished.
âWhy do you think so?âAntara asked weirdly.
âI meanâŠGuddan is so youngâŠshe is merely 22 whereas Vikram is already 35â
âAnd you are 40 plusâ, his internal voice deadpanned.
âAge is just a number Akshat. If their hearts will meetâŠ..â
At this Akshat cut Antara off, âThat will never happenâ
Akshat bit his tongue as he realized he had yet again let his annoyance take over. Clearing his throat he tried to diffuse the damage he wasnât sure he minded doing, âThat will never happen because they are poles apart- Vikram is peaceful and calm (outright boring!) by nature whereas Guddan is chirpy, fun loving, talkative, disorderlyâŠâ
Antara missed the lovelorn goofy smile that had made its way to Akshatâs face as he described Guddan.
âOpposites attract, Akshat! And Iâve seen it, Vikramâs lively when heâs with Guddan. He jokes, laughs and teases too!â
âDo you think, he can handle her?!â Akshat asked, recalling the numerous accidents that kept happening in Guddanâs presence.
âShe talks more often than she breathes. Sheâll most probably eat his ears and brains offâ,Akshat replied fondly.
And the airhead Antara once again failed to catch his emotions and asked him, âYou either dislike Guddan or this alliance! Which is it?â
âObviously the later!âAkshat scoffed, irked.
âWhat?!â
Akshat caught the confusion in Antaraâs voice and straightened his act, âItâs just that I am not sure about your deductions and Vikram is soâŠ.so damn important to me that I canât possibly push him into this alliance based on your whimsâŠwhen we donât have solid proofs that they both feel the same?â
Antara nodded, seemingly convinced by Akshatâs lies.
âIn that case, weâll just have to check!â Antara smiled at Akshat as his smile dropped into the pits of his stomach. He didnât like her scheming smile. At all.
~*~*~*~*~*~
For the umpteenth time, Akshat turned his head to see Guddan and Vikram sitting side by side. He groaned. To hell with his tongue!
The âcheckâ Antara had mentioned meant setting Vikram and Guddan up to see a movie together. How romantic! Akshat gagged.
Antara had convinced Guddan to accompany them and Guddan being the kind soul she was, couldnât refuse her. And here they were, seated in the last row with Antara to his right and Guddan to his left and Vikram to her left.
He wasnât sure if he appreciated her sitting by his side or hated Vikram sitting by her side too, considering the fact that he was her prospective groom.
Vomits!
Guddan tried to ignore the warmth emanating from Akshat. She tried to ignore the tingles being sent down her spine as their shoulders were brushing. Akshat wasnât immune either, in the darkness he let his palm enclose over hers from below the seat support. As soon as his big palm closed over hers, she jerked up to sit straight, her heart thudding loudly in her ears.
She tried to pull her hand away but he refused to budge.Carefully, he turned her palm and interlocked his fingers with hers, feeling her clammy palm under his touch. This was a horror movie and Guddan, obviously wasnât a fan. He couldnât leave her alone.
Five minutes into the movie, a lip lock happened and Guddanâs pulse quickened under his touch. He felt it and gulping his nerves down, leaned his face closer to Guddanâs when Antara and Vikram werenât watching.
âGuddan..â
She jerked her face to his direction as his husky voice snaked across her ears. Her breath got stuck as she saw his lips a cm away from hers, his irregular breathing fanning her face.
Out of instinct, they leaned closer and their lips almost touched, when Guddan through her half lidded eyes saw Antara clutching Akshatâs arm tightly as she laid down her head on shoulder.
Her consciousness screamed and she pulled away quickly, snatching her palm away in the process.
Akshat was startled but as he saw her fingers twiddling uncomfortably in her lap, he realized that mess he was pulling her in. If only he could get rid of this indecisiveness.
Vikram wasnât blind. He had seen the exchange and wanted to punch Akshat Jindal badly. Casanova! Cheater! He was fooling both Antara and Guddan. And Guddan ji! What was she being troubled about?! She had full rights on that man for he was her legally wedded husband.
Taking it upon himself to make her feel a little less miserable, he leaned towards her and let out a cold gasp of air into her left ear when she was anticipating the witchâs hand to pop out from the hole. Guddan shrieked full throttle and Vikram battled to keep his laughter threatening to come out. He snickered a little and Guddan turned to him, shocked.
âYe aapne kiya?!âShe hissed between clenched teeth as the guard inside asked her to shut up.
âCouldnât help it!Too much fun!â He snickered yet again.
âArghh!â Guddan stomped her foot annoyed and turned her face. Moron!
Ten minutes later, Guddan turned to Vikram to see his palms clapped over his eyes, as he chanted hanuman chalisa.
She grinned menacingly. What goes around, comes around, Vikram Ji!
She leaned close to his ear as he parted his fingers slightly to see the screen approaching a dark door from where cries were coming out. Guddan waited and as soon as a woman in white with blood tears streaming down her deformed face appeared on the screen, Guddan whispered a quick âBooâ in his ears.
And his reaction was insane. Vikram jumped in his seat and let out a cute yelp as Guddan doubled over with laughter. Such a girly reaction he had given, that she couldnât keep her tear glands in check.
âGuddan ji, aap!âVikram growled as Guddan was wiping her eyes but before he could say anything more, the guard had them both thrown out of the hall.
Akshat hissed. During their time together, he had never seen Guddan laughing this openly. Antara smiled, her plan had worked fine.
âThis has happened tome for the first timeâ, Vikram spoke up amused.
âHumara toh roz ka kaam hai!â Guddan replied sarcastically.
Vikram chuckled, âBelievable, when itâs coming from you!â
âYeah, right!âGuddan scoffed annoyed. Akshat Jindal must be enjoying his lone time with his Antara.
âYou donât sound too thrilled!â Vikram raised his brows and continued, âWant to go back in?â
âIâd rather notâ, Guddan replied a little too quick but Vikram just shrugged.
âChaliye, an ice cream to you on my behalf!â Vikram offered.
Guddan narrowed her eyes at him suspiciously smelling foul play.
Vikram put both his hands up and smiled, âTruce!â
Guddan let out a smile too, âGood call, Vikram Ji!â
And Vikram just mock bowed in response as both let out a chuckle and went for the ice cream parlor whereas Akshat Jindal punched the nearest wall giving it a nice dimple. Vikram!!
So how was it peeps?!đ
