Chapter 42

2 Days Later

Guddan has got her pregnancy confirmed and she is extremely delighted to know this and today she has planned to tell Akshat as well. She has planned to throw a surprise party for him and as such has asked all family members to not wish him. Guddan has kept the naming ceremony of the baby today only so that she can throw a party for akshat without him suspecting anything. It's a sindy so everyone is home. Nimi is recovering slowly and guddan is taking extreme care of her. Akshat on the other hand loves to play with the baby but only when guddan holds the baby because he is still afraid to hold the baby.

It's morning guddan is getting ready and akshat is in the washroom. Guddan is standing in front of the mirror.

Guddan: (hand on her belly) today you will meet your father. I am so excited.

Just then akshat comes out of the washroom.

Akshat: who were you talking to?

Guddan: (biting her tongue) no one. I was just waiting for you.

Akshat: why you have to say something?

Guddan: no just like that and leaves.

Akshat: (getting ready) when it comes to others she remembers even tiny bits and today she did not even wish me. Did she actually forget or she is just pretending? Why would she pretend?

After breakfast, guddan goes to see nimisha. Then she starts with the decorations along with aarti. Akshat and his mother are sitting in the Hall.

Maa: lalla, what's wrong with you? Are you not feeling well?

Akshat: no maa, is am fine.

Maa: then what's with your face. You seem to be upset.

Just then aarti comes to her mother to ask something. Guddan is standing behind akshat doing something.

Akshat: since the baby has arrived. People have become so busy (only audible to guddan).

Guddan: you said something (chuckling mentally).

Akshat: no😒😒

Guddan: akshatttttt

He turns back and sees guddan lying on the floor. She fell from the stool and their was a piece of glass lying on the floor and pierced her foot. Akshat runs and lifts her and places her on the sofa.

Akshat: (shouting) aarti get the first aid asap.

Aarti: bhabhi are you fine? Why didn't you ask me I would have at least held the stool while you were standing.

Guddan: aaru i am fine?

Akshat slowly removes the glass piece while she hisses in pain but controls herself. He does her dressing and goes to his room without saying a word. On the other hand guddan is worried about her baby and thinks to call her doctor.

Guddan: hello Dr.

Doctor: hello Mrs. Jindal. How are you?

Guddan: doctor I had to tell you something. I was standing on a tool and I fell down.

Doctor: did you fall with your face down?

Guddan: no doctor. I didn't.

Doctor: did you feel any impact on your belly?

Guddan: no actually the height of the tool was not much and when I fell I was not flat on the floor but I kind of fell in a sitting position.

Doctor: thats ok Mrs. Jindal. I don't think there is anything to worry. But you need to be very careful.

Guddan: thankyou so much doctor.

She goes back to the Hall and sees Akshat is not back yet. He is extremely angry with her and pacing back forth in his room. She thinks to go to him but just then nimisha calls her asking for help in changing the baby's diaper. After she comes out of nimisha's room, a servant comes to her asking something and she goes along with him in the kitchen.

It's been 4 hours since he is in his room and she was unable to go to him. They are done with the decoration and everything is ready for the party.

Maa: guddan, now go and rest for sometime before the party. You look so tired.

Guddan: yes ma.

She enters her room and closes the door. He is sitting on the laptop working. She calls him but he doesn't respond. She again calls him but he shows no reaction. She goes and sits on the bed on his side and puts her hand on his but he takes his hand back.

Guddan: sorry. Won't you talk to me? Akshat, akshat.

Akshat: why are you here? You got time for me because you don't have time to take care of yourself.

Guddan: i said na sorry? I am fine trust me. It didn't hurt much.

Akshat: ok (standing up).

Guddan: you are not ok.

He pins her to the wall holding her shoulders with blood red eyes.

Akshat: you know how important you are for me. I guess no because then you wouldn't be so careless. Time and again I have told you to look after yourself but no. Who am I? You have all the time for others but not for me. I was waiting you will come to me but no I am the last person in your priority list maybe just before your own self.

He leaves her shoulders and moves away. She hugs him and cries.

Guddan: trust me I so wanted to come to you akshat but then nimisha called me, then somebody else, then I got busy. I am so sorry for making you feel so but you are and will always be my first priority.

Akshat: it's ok. I guess I just got carried away. I was worried for you that's why I said those things. I know how like me rest of the family can't do anything without you.

They stand in each other's embrace and guddan thinks how will he react when he will know I am pregnant and I fell knowing it. She closes her eyes.

Guddan: akshat did you order the cake. It's the same way as I told you.

Akshat: yes it is. Btw aren't you forgetting something.

Guddan: what? (Pretending to think)

Akshat: nothing. Let's get ready.

Akshat wears a black suit and guddan wears black a saree with a shimmery black blouse. He is stunned to see her. She is looking breathtaking. He goes and hugs her form behind placing his chin on her shoulder while drawing patterns on her waist. She puts her head on his shoulder and he starts kissing her neck while she ruffles his hair. Just then there is a knock.

Aarti: bhaiya bhabhi, guests have arrived and are looking for you. Wow you guys are looking stunning. Come now.

Akshat: you go we are coming.

Aarti: what you go. Come we will go together.

Akshat: together😖😖😖😖

Aarti: yes bhabhi come now. Bhai you stay and do whatever you have to.

Akshat: (murmuring) I can't do that alone.

Aarti: did you say something?

Akshat: no, yes. You see what's that on the pillar behind you.

The moment aarti turns, akshat pecks guddan's lips shocking her.

Aarti: there is nothing bhai.

Akshat: ya might have been the reflection, then. Come let's go now.

The party starts, everyone is congratulating nimisha and angad. Just then pandit ji comes and starts the pooja. Nimisha and angad sit with the baby and do all the rituals.

Pandit: who is going to name the baby?

Akshat: we.

Pandit: come forward both of and you say the name in his ears audible to other was well.

Guddan and akshat come forward and akshat places his hand on his forehead and guddan goes near his ear.

Pandit: now say it as we name the child and the name.

Akshat and Guddan: We name the child Ansh Jindal.

Everyone claps hearing the name and with this pooja ends.

Guddan: nimi you liked the name?

Nimi: yes di of course.

Guddan: RK bring the cake. Angad, nimisha come here and cut the cake.

On the cake it's written "Welcome Ansh Jindal". Angad and nimisha cut the cake and feed to each other first and then to others.

Guddan: (taking the mic) ladies and gentlemen we have another cake to cut.

A cake is bought and kept in front of akshat. He is surprised to see the cake and looks at guddan who is smiling at him.

On the cake it's written " Happy birthday Hubby".

She comes and stands by his side while everyone wishes him. He cuts the cake and feeds the first piece to her and then others.

Angad: (announces) the birthday boy and his girl on the stage now👏👏👏

Akshat takes guddan to the stage. He places both his hands on her waist while she snakes her arms around his neck. Both sharing an eyelock.

Akshat: you remembered?

Guddan: of course. You actually thought I will forget.

Akshat: no but then you were behaving weird and nobody wished me.

Guddan: that's because I asked them not to 😉😉

Akshat: (pulling her closer) btw where is my gift.

Guddan: patience

Just then the music turns off and they separate heading towards the guests who are leaving. Now only their families and close friends Rahul and pooja are left. They are all sitting in Hall when akshat mouths to guddan who is sitting opposite to him "gift".

Guddan stands up and goes to her room. She takes out the reports from her bag and goes down stairs hiding them under her pallu.She reaches the Hall and is about to call akshat when someone from the door calls out.

Someone: (crying tone) akshatttttt

All turn around and are shocked.
