Chapter 38

Next morning Guddan wakes up first and she squirms in his embrace. She then remembers the happenings of last night and blushes. She lifts her head up to see him sleeping peacefully holding her tight. She pecks his lips and he wakes up smiling at her. He pulls her above him and tucks her hair behind the ears. He says thank you to her kissing her forehead and she blushes burying her face in the crook of his neck while he hugs her tight. They are both ready and she is making him wear the tie.

Guddan: akshat whatever happened yesterday you won't talk about it downstairs.

AJ: of course I need to talk. I need to know why she said such things about you.

Guddan: please let's not spoil the morning. Let it be. Please for me (hugging him).

AJ: why do you have to be so nice? Fine as you say when have I denied you (kissing her forehead).

They both go downstairs. She goes to the kitchen and he sits on the dining table. Just then his mother comes.

Maa: lalla tune guddan se baat ki?

AJ: nahi maa, kal itna sab hone k baad wo waise bhi bahut upset thi. Main use aur pareshaan nahi karna chahta tha.

Maa: haan wo to hai. Lekin tu use jaldi bata de sab.

AJ: g maa.

Guddan: maa bua ji nai aayi breakfast k liye.

Maa: aarahi hogi. Aaja tu baith.

Guddan: haan maa main pehle ek baar nimisha ko dekh k aati hoon.

Angad: bhabhi wo so rahi hai.

Guddan: ok. Chal aaja have breakfast.

After AJ leaves for office guddan goes to call bua ji for breakfast even though her MIL tries to stop her.

Guddan: bua ji chaliye breakfast kar lijiye.

Bua: tumse kitni baar kaha hai mere paas mat aao tum. Main nahi maanti tumhe lalla ki patni. Meri liye tum sirf uski zindagi main aayi hui doosri aurat ho aur kuch nahi.

Guddan: (teary eyes) bua ji ye aap kya keh rahi hain (and leaves from their).

Maa: guddan meri baat to sun. Pata tha mujhe didi ki aap aisa he kuch karengi isliye main uske peeche aayi thi. Kyun kar rahi hain aap aise. Aapko nahi dikhta lalla kitna khush hai.

Bua: bhabhi lalla khush nahi hai. Wo bechara ab isse bardaasht kar raha hai aur kuch bhi nahi.

Maa: aapse to baat krna he bekar hai and goes to guddan.

She enters her room and sees guddan lying down on the bed crying. She caresses her hair and guddan sits straight on the bed.

Guddan: maa ye buaji har baar aisa kyun kehti hain. Last time b she said the same thing lekin aapne kaha so maine ignore kar diya.

Maa: Tu lalla se baat kar, wo tujhe sab batayega.

Guddan: maa aap kya kehna chahti hain. Kya buaji sach bol.... Nahi nahi aisa nahi ho sakta. Akshat aisa nahi kar sakte hain. Haina maa 😢😢

Maa: guddan jo hamesha dikhayi de aur sunayi di wahi hamesha sach nahi hota.

Guddan: maa aap kya kehna chahti hain?

Maa: lalla aayega tu us se baat kar lena (leaving).

Guddan stands up wiping her tears and decides to go to his office as she can't wait. Buaji sees her leaving and decides to call someone.

Bua: wo yahan se nikal gayi hai. Mujhe lagta hai yahi sahi waqt hai tumhare saamne aane ka.

Caller: aap kehna kya chah rahi hain.

Bua: 😡😡😡 kitni bewakoof ho tum. Kuch nahi hoga tumse. Guddan bahut toot chuki hai meri baaton se aur ab wo yahi baat Akshat se karne jaa rahi hai lekin us k pahunch ne se pehle main chahti hoon tum wahan pahuncho. Aur wahan jaake kya krna hai wo bhi mujhe he batana hai?

Caller:achaaa samjh gayi. Theek hai i will leave (and cuts the call).

Bua thinks today will be an end to their relation. On the other hand guddan reaches the office. As she is about to enter the main gate a girl enters before her and the security guard stands up to greet her. She too enters after her and starts moving towards AJ's cabin.

Guddan notices everyone from the staff is greeting that girl and then she spots AJ in the corridor talking to someone. She smiles and starts moving towards him but stops in her tracks when that girl runs towards AJ and hugs him tight.

Girl: Akshat ohh how much have i missed you.

AJ: shanaya tum yahan wo bhi is waqt. After such a long time.

Shanaya: kyun ab main tumse milne b nahi aasakti (putting her arm around his neck)

AJ: nahi i didnt mean that. Itne achanak se. You didn't even inform ( moving away from her). Chalo cabin main.

Shanaya: ok (holding his hand).

AJ: Tum chalo i will arrange coffee.

Shanaya: ok i will wait in the cabin.

AJ: send in two coffees (turning towards the receptionist).

As he turns he spots guddan at the door with teary eyes. She turns around and is about to leave when he calls her.

AJ: guddan tum kab aayi. Aayi to waapis kyun jaa rahi ho?

Guddan: kuch nahi. I saw you were busy and there was no need for me to stay.

AJ: what do you mean there is no need. Tum aayi to kisi kaam se he hogi na aise he to tum kabhi office nahi aati.

Guddan: kyun i disturbed you.

AJ: why would you disturb me. Tum kabhi bhi aasakti ho yahan bas main pooch raha tha?

Just the his phone rings displaying shanaya.

Guddan: go she is waiting for you. Waise bhi bua ji ne to sahi he kaha na, main to hoon he doosri aurat aapki life main.

AJ: guddan 😡😡😡😡. What the hell are you talking. Koi b tumse kuch bhi bolega so you will react like that.

Guddan: buaji ne to sirf bola, maine to dekha sab abhi. Ye haq shayad isi liye mujhe shaadi k ek saal baad mila (wiping her tears).

He holds her by the elbow and takes her into the room and makes her sit on the couch. He himself drinks water to calm down. He sits down on the floor in front of her holding her hands.

AJ: tum jaisa samjh rahi ho waisa kuch bhi nahi hai. Please listen to me.

Guddan: phir kaisa hai akshat. Jo maine abhi dekha wo kya tha.

AJ: jo tumne dekha wo hua lekin tum us se jo samjh rahi ho wo waisa nahi hai (kissing her hands)

Guddan: akshat mujhe to lagta tha aap pe sirf aur sirf mera haq hai aur main aapki life main pehli aur aakhri ladki hoon.

AJ: guddan yahi sach hai jo kabhi nahi badal sakta (placing her head in his lap)

Guddan: phir buaji kyun mujhe hamesha bolti hain ki main aapki life main doosri aurat hoon.

AJ: (stands up with a jerk) shut up, just shut up. Stop using this word again and again. Do you even realise tum bol kya rahi ho. I don't want to hear this word ever again from your mouth. Do you get that.

Just then his phone rings and it's shanaya again. He rejects her call and calls his PA and asks him to go to his cabin and tell shanaya that he is in a meeting.

Guddan: lekin ye maine nahi bola.

AJ: tumne bola nahi lekin suna to. How dare you listen such a thing about yourself, about akshat jindal's wife. How could you?

Guddan: because I don't know anything.

AJ: (holding her hands) I will tell you the truth now and listen carefully. I wanted to tell you yesterday only but couldn't as you were already upset.

Guddan: akshat kya hai. I am getting worried.

AJ: no need to. Do you trust me?

Guddan: I do that's why I am sitting here still.

AJ: You will listen to me fully and then respond (squeezing her hands).

Guddan: ok.

AJ: the girl you saw is Shanaya Oberoi. She was my fiancee two years before our marriage. She was chosen by buaji as she was her friends daughter. I agreed to the relation and we were engaged. Post engagement we used to meet each other. We had developed some sort of understanding in 4 months. But one day she met me and told me she was not sure of this relationship and needed a break. I agreed to it thinking she needed some space but then she told me that she wanted to end this relation completely. I felt bad because I had developed some sort of feeling of care or affection nothing more (placing his head in her lap). But then I agreed because I couldn't force her. Today why she is here I myself don't know.

Guddan: (carressing his hair) I am sorry, I was so frightened. Mere mann main itne ajeeb ajeeb khayal aarahe thay.

AJ: you shouldn't be I am. I should have told this to you long back. This chaos wouldn't have occured and you could have replied back to buaji (standing up)

Guddan: that's ok.

She stands up wiping her tears. She turns him around snaking her arms around his neck and kisses him passionately taking out all her frustration and anger. He stumbles by her sudden action but luckily there is a table behind him which he holds for support and then starts Responding. After sometime they part due to lack of oxygen.

Guddan: Akshat Jindal par pehla aur aakhri haq sirf Guddan Akshat Jindal Ka hai.

AJ: definitely (hugging her). Btw tumne bataya nahi achanak se office??

Guddan: main aapse baat karne aayi thi and narrates the whole incident that happened back at home.

Meanwhile Shanaya calls buaji.

Bua: kya hua?

Shanaya: tere nishane pe laga hai. Akshat shayad usse samjha raha hai kyunki wo abhi tak mere paas aya he nahi.

Bua: achaaa. Matlab aaj lalla akela he waapis aayega. Agar tune 3 saal pehle wo sab nahi kiya hota to aaj ye sab nahi karna padta.

Shanaya: hogayi na galti bua ji. Kitni baar aapko sorry bol chuki hoon. Aur ab main poori koshish karungi akshat ko apna banane ki.

Bua: wo to karna he hai. Guddan ko lalla k saath main bilkul nahi dekh sakti.

Shanaya: aap fikar mat kijiye aaj humne pehla kadam le liya hai. Baaki b hojayega.

Bua: haan and cuts the call.

AJ: btw what were you saying outside?

Guddan: what?

AJ: yahi ki ye haq tumhe ek saal baad mila and all?

Guddan: wo to bas....

AJ: see guddan i know that Past 1 year has been very painful for you and I am solely responsible for that. Please forgive me but never ever say that somebody else has any right on me before you. You were my first priority always and forever even before our confession. It's just that I didn't understand or maybe I took you for granted but you have always been my first priority always.

Guddan: I am sorry for hurting you and hugs him. Chalo i will leave now. Take care.

AJ: you too and let me know once you reach.

Guddan: ok.

She reaches home and texts him. She sees maa and buaji sitting in Hall. She comes and sits with them.

Maa: guddan Tu kahan chali gayi thi bina bataye.

Guddan: sorry maa wo main akshat k paas gayi thi office.

Maa: sab theek haina?

Guddan: haan maa sab theek hai aur aapne sahi kaha tha jo dikhayi ye sunayi de hamesha wahi sach nahi hota.

Maa: matlab tu meri baat samjh gayi aur tune lalla se b baat kar lee.

Guddan: haan maa samjh gayi aur unse b baat kar lee. Main abhi aati hoon and goes to her room.

Buaji fumes in anger and leaves the place to call shanaya. She tells what rubbish she was talking on phone and that guddan is back in a very composed manner. Shanaya says that she had left the office and doesn't know what actually happened.

Aarti: (knocking at the door) bhabhi mujhe apki help chahiye

Guddan: haan bol kya hua? Andar aa na.

Aarti: bhabhi exam hai, thodi C help kardo.

Guddan: abhi???

Aarti: nai shaam ko dinner k baad.

Guddan: ok done.

Angad: bhabhi nimi bula rahi hai aapko.

Guddan: kyun kya hua, wo theek haina?

Angad: haan theek hai. Aap aao na neeche.

Nimi: didi dekho na mujhe bahut irritation see ho rahi. Kuch ajeeb si feeling. Kuch samjh he nahi aaraha.

Guddan: relax, pehle paani pi. Main abhi doctor se baat karti hoon. Let's c wo kya bolti hai.

Nimi: theek hai lekin abhi karo.

Guddan: hello Dr. main guddan jindal bol rahi hoon

Dr: yes Mrs. Jindal, how are you. Everything ok?

Guddan: yes everything is fine. Just that nimisha was feeling very irritated and uncomfortable sort of. Is there anything to worry.

Dr: no no, it's absolutely fine. It's just that her delivery date is near, so these things happen.

Guddan: ok thankyou Dr.

Angad: kya hua bhabhi, kya bola Dr ne. Sab theek hai?

Guddan: haan sab kuch theek hai. Kaha ye last month main normal hota hai. Nimi ab rest kar thoda. Theek hai.

Nimi: ok.
