Its that time of the year again when big will become bigger and better! Come, the first fortnight of the new year -2006, and Star will host another total treat for its viewers by exclusively showcasing the Hero Honda 12th Annual Star Screen Awards on Star Plus. Redefining entertainment and keeping to its commitment to innovate, the channel will present this show too with a tinge of difference. As the country's funny bone will be tickled with the best of their five favourite Laughter Champions; these small screen champs will take-upon, yet another challenge of entertaining their very own favorites and big screen icons in bindaas Mumbaiya ishtyle. Living up the spirit of Mumbai- the city of glamour, glitz and Bollywood, this year's Star Screen Awards would reflect the theme Amchi Mumbai in every possible way. be it sets, performance or even the characters which are being portrayed by the 5-laughter champions, everything will bring-out the essence of the city of dreams- Mumbai. Joyous on the occasion and this big opportunity, the popular 'pehchan-kaun' and 'chal-haat'- Naveen Prabhakar said, "For me specially, even this is a big achievement, that I am a part of Star Screen awards. Its beyond a role of a sheer hosting. Mere liye yeh pura experience bahut bahut important aur challenging hai. Bhai its not easy to entertain the country's entertainers, is it??" To this added, the straight-jacketed Ehsaan Qureshi in his ever rhyming & sing-song style, "Mera shuru se yeh sapna tha ki kala ke manjhe huain kalakaron ke samne apni kala ka pradarshan karun, aur aaj Star TV ki wajah se in Stars ke beech main bhi ek chota sa Star bunker apne talent ko samne rakhoonga..aisa lagta hai ki yeh jeevan ka sapna ab poora ho raha hai..isliye main Star Tv ko many-many thanks kehna chahta hoon...Maine abhi tak ki apni sari top items is avsar ke liye tayyar kari hain taki jo sabka manoranjan karte hain aur khud na TV na cinema dekh pate hai, un sabhi ka jee bhar ke manoranjan ho ..." Echoing his sentiments along, said Raju Srivastav, "Star Screen is a very prestigious event for me to associate with, and I am very happy to be one of the host for this big night. It's a more responsible role, to be performing in front of the who's who of the film fraternity. Especially I am looking forward to perform in front of Bachchan Saab, Aamir, SRK, kyunki in logo se maine bahut kutch seekha hai aur actually main toh kahoonga ki yeh mere liye ek award se kaam nahi hai ki main is event mein perform karunga." Unhesitatingly, further said Punjabi puttar Bhagwant Mann in his effervescent tone, "Life mein jo sapne hote hain 80-90% sapne sapne hi rahte hai lekin Star Screen Awards ko host karna mere liye ek aisa sapna hai jo aab sach hone ja raha hai aur yeh mere liye ek bahut hi khushi ka mokka hai. Aab tak hum TV ke bahar rehkar Screen Awards dekhte the aur ab hum TV ki doosri taraf honge. Mujhe lagta hai ki Star ne yeh bahut bada runway diya hai jahan se humne ab take-off karma hai." Poised and confident Sunil Pal, sharing his views on preparation & participation said, "Currently I am preparing my script and rehearsing my acts. My performance would be based on what I call an in-house humour to which both film goers and film-makers will be able to relate to.its totally an exhilarating experience for me to even prepare for this event and the sheer fact that I will be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with people I have idolized all my life, thrills me to the hilt." Elaborating on the creative concept-Amchi Mumbai and involvement of Laughter Champions, in this year's Star Screen Awards, said Shailja Kejriwal, Senior Creative Director, Star India, "Screen is an event of Serious competition, Serious glamour and Serious speeches. So we thought we would spice it up with a bit of fun and humour to provide a good mix."
