hi guys, am here with the details of the most melodramatic episode ever filmed on the sets of Grahasti i should imagine.
1. Yeh shaadi nahi ho sakti
2. Bua gets hysterical
3. Rano commits suicide
Rohan's father shouts "yeh shaadi nahin ho sakti! Hum baraat wapas le jaa rahein hain". He hands the letter to Rohan and the whole baraat walks out on a shocked family and stunned Rano. They all run behind the groom and his parents and Bua begs the groom's father to reconsider. She tells him that her daughter's life will be ruined and falls at his feet, runs behind the moving car etc. Rishi grabs and shakes her as she continues to scream hysterically. Rishi shouts and shakes her bringing her back to her senses for a short while. Beeji, Rishi and Amrit somehow drag her back into the house.
As soon as Bua reaches inside the house she sees Rano sitting shell shocked on the staircase. She charges at her with the intention to attack her saying "this girl has no right to live because she is the root cause of all the evil and trouble". The others stop her but she continues her tirade against Rano. She says that she rues the day that she gave birth to such a girl. She says that a mother who birthed such a girl is "kalankini", runs into her room and douses herself with blue coloured water (kerosene) and attempts to immolate herself.
Everyone is shouting from outside the room. Rishi the hero brings a bronze thingy and shatters the glass pane on the door and opens the door to rescue bua. Beeji slaps bua and scolds her for attempting suicide. Ok! who in the name of all that is common sense stores a can of kerosene in their bedroom? Anyway, bua is now bathed and changed into another saree and she is now silent and like a statue staring away listlessly into space. Peace! Veera smirks and sneers with happiness.
Amrit advices bua that although Rano has committed an unpardonable mistake, she still loves her family very much. She says that her trust is broken and she is very hurt. Imagine her feelings when Rishi and Simar found her alone on the platform. Beeji asks Sohni to go bring Rano down. Sensible! But Sohni goes upstairs and Rano is nowhere to be found. Rishi, Raunak and Cha are despatched to find Rano.
Rishi is driving all around madly showing Rano's photo to passers by, paan wala, rickshaw wala, cyclist, jay walkers etc. Only Rishi is searching quite diligently for Rano, while Cha probably dragged poor Raunak to the pub!
Rano is walking along in all her bridal clothes and heaps of jewellery glittering away in the lonely streets. She remembers all the words spoken by various people. The groom's father calls her irresponsible, Rohan says she has lost the trust of her own family, bua wishes her dead. She remembers running along with the moving train calling for Gaurav in vain. Soon it is daylight already and Rano is still walking intact with all her jewellery and virtue. She reaches a mountainous region with a little waterfall that drains into a lake.
Amrit and Beeji are lamenting that Rano cannot be found anywhere and try to use this piece of information to shake bua out of her apathetic state. Bua says that Rano has been dead to her the minute she walked out of the house. Bua only tried to make a corpse sit in the doli and she failed. She says that the final rites for the dead need to be done. Veera yells at her to keep quiet and for minute appeared genuinely distressed.
Rano stands at the edge of the waterfall, looking into the horizon, expressionless, hurt, bewildered by the turn of events, unable to believe her fate and the cruel trick played on her by destiny (her own folly). On an impulse Rano throws herself into the pool of water below and disappears beneath its surface.
Precap: Beeji asks Sohni to call Gaurav. He does not answer his phone and cuts it off!๐ก
Performances and comments:
Looking at the perspective that bua is a hyper personality by default, i give it to this actress for trying to act hysterical.๐
Rano was passable but could have done better towards the end.
Amrit was good as usual. Simar cried well.
Rishi had a mad day dashing around in circles. Poor boy looked fed up and exhausted in the end. Must have thought to himself "oh God! what have i saddled myself with? A bunch of harebrained women with impulsive and hysterical natures". Rishi, i warn you madness is heriditary sometimes.๐
