I don't think he's obsessed with P or have any such attachment in that sense.

Remember how he compared sai with pakhi saying u know why family loves pakhi not u and called her good bahu even after she suggested him to elope with her.

He always compares pakhi with sai in his mind.

Pakhi is the first woman who he had feelings for. For him she is beautiful, matured, loving that's why whole family loves her. This opinion of him doesn't change no matter what she does. Even when she does wrong things, he tries to understand the reasons behind her actions which he never did for sai. Even when she insults him by calling him dokebaaz, he never gets offended. But if sai calls such names, he explodes.

If virat is obsessed with sai, he wouldn't have let her go. Because we can't live without the person who we are obsessed with. But virat easily gives up on sai. Had sai not forgive him and come back for him every damn time, their relationship would have ended.

He want sai on her knees infront of him, begging for him, adjusting to him.

When sai goes against him, it hurts his ego so he makes sure she sees hell for daring to live happily without him.

Sai can bless him to live happily with other woman if she feels he is happy. But he can't, can never even if he thinks she is happy without him. Her happiness was never his first priority.

Virat is kind of man who gets pleasure with women pinning for him not out of sex.

The reason why he never moved on with pakhi physically.

He could have easily adopted vinu by using his police power like he is using now. But he didn't. It didn't took much time for him to accept marriage proposal with pakhi. Basically he can't live single without women. It proved in shruti track, there is no reason for him to live in same house with her but he did despite having money and power to afford seperate house for him. He just wants companion whether pakhi, sai or shruti.

With sai it is little different, because sai goes against him, don't mind leaving him unlike pakhi and shruti. So it kinda invokes beast in him.

Another reason is sai is orphan. Unlike sai, pakhi has parents who will question him if he hurts her. But no one will question him no matter what he does with sai so that is another advantage for him to show extreme toxic behaviour towards her.

Basically shruti, sai, pakhi all women r same for him, his proximity, emotional connect more or less same with all of them. But sai is kind of challenge for him to win, so her rejection affects him like anything. He gets pleasure in taming her.

Virat as a dark character has lot of potential like vanraj. Because there are men like him in real life. Dark character does not always mean planning, plotting. It can have shades like manipulation, narcissism, self obsessed like virat. But makers show his character as comedy by whitewashing him. So he neither looks as ml nor as villian. At the end his character comes out as joke and troll worthy.
