I have mentioned this film many times...

Its called Lion... and it's based on a real life scenario where a lost boy from MP lands up in an orphanage in Kolkata and is adopted by a couple in Australia.

Years later, as an adult he reconnects with his biological parents but chooses to go back to his adoptive parents.

A brilliant scene towards the end is this ❤️

Lion is a beautiful film about triumph of human spirits .. it makes you believe that god is there ..

the man Sheroo lost his elder brother but he got saved .. and had a more privileged life

he did not exactly go back to his adopted parents

he always knew they were supporting foster parents and he found his real family who were still living in slums

And he was an adult ..
he was way too different from them to adjust back
But to be able to find back his identity was superb
I had tears throughout

that’s why it was important for Vinayak to know he is Sai’s son …. As an adult it’s too late .. and Sai has not given him birth .. so if she doesn’t bring this Boy up .. she is only an egg donor

The very thing that the man Saroo kept his name .. was a wonder .. his name was 🦁 sheroo.. truly God is up there

Enjoyed reading it.

And he will get time to bond with his sister also from childhood, instead of years later. Later she may look only like a friend to him.

Thats why BK was also keen i guess in letting the kids know that CN is their real house with relatives.

They should show BK s love for Harini also simultaneously.

Harini also deserves her love. She was abandoned when she was born and her mom was also not in a good condition. BK was responsible for everything.

The discussion about this film came up only because of Vinayaks adoption track.

The important point in this clip is what Nicole says... I could have had children. I chose not to.

She as a mother couldn't do injustice between her biological and adoptive child. Guess that's where they were coming from.

How honest and poignant this is...

And that's why it is said that you need not give birth to be a mother. ❤️

Yes of course ..

I have 3 relatives who have adopted kids

And I have 2-3 friends too .. it is becoming very common

but really it’s a case of not able to have biological kids for them

A few of them had years gone trying assisted methods

I know a family who had kids by surrogacy .. it’s very very expensive ..,definitely 1 cr plus ..,
And it’s not a sure shot success .

What they did with Vinayak is botched attempt mostly biological parents are never disclosed

one of the things i have noticed with my friends / family is that the adopted kid looks quite a bit like their parents ..two of them resemble so much it’s startling ..

then I was told by my aunt that they take family pics .. of all close relatives and try to give a good match .. so that child feels a part of them

I have heard the same. They try to match. At least skin colour and basic features. So that the kid when he/she grows up doesn't feel odd one out.

I have also heard parents shifting to new city, new house if possible for a fresh start.

One of my father's colleague had adopted. She was so similar looking to her mother that we never knew until they told us.
