Tabula Rasa
Phoenix rising from the ashes….we have spoken about this so many times. And this leap is meant to be just that for Sai and Virat.
The fire had been simmering in the background for long. In fact, ever since they met. While they learnt their way during their course of their relationship to understand each other, there has been so much that has remained unaddressed between them. All that has been piling up since they first met.
Right from the first scene where his car splashed mud on her, to KJ’s death, to Sai leaving with Vinu. After every fall out, they came back. But always left those unaddressed. While they have been comfortable and have had candid conversations, they have never really spoken about the bigger skeletons in the closet. Their love had kept them going, despite all this, but when the love had another contender (their baby), priorities changed, and their love was not enough to hold them together.
The inferno has been staying out since all these years and it is yet to reach its peak. The peak when they meet each other. There was lot said before they separated, but there is more that is yet to spoken. The circumstances and their actions post separation have added to their anger (at least Sai for now, V we still have to wait). But after knowing about Savi he may hold that against her.
Their relationship started off with conditions forced upon by circumstances. It was a marriage which, neither parties willingly entered. Only with time they fell with each other. But the fact remained that the foundation of their marriage was a “deal” which had an expiry. Their did build their life on it, but there were insecurities and accusations that arose directly and indirectly due to this. All that has been stored in their conscious and subconscious mind for each other has to be washed away.
So, it was imperative that they started on a clean state. A fresh start….Tabula Rasa. With something crucial that was missing earlier “CONSENT”…a eager one..from the heart.
Anger, Vengeance, Regret, reflection, resurgence this is a journey Sai and Virat will be going through. But it wouldn’t be just them. In pockets, in smaller or greater degree, the Chavans will be having their own one.
BK has been the strongest authority and the one with regressive and rigid mindset. So it is essential to break her built internal and external. Her belief can only be changed when she herself is posed with a situation which puts her at crossroads and she decision is for hers to make. No one is pining over “Waaris” they way she is. She has been the most insistent with the “male child” defining the word in literal context in her dictionary. This has to break for the entire family’s functioning to change.
In all this Sai had Savi, V lost everything, yet found Vinu to fill the void in his life, but BK got nothing in this bargain. She is still deprived of a “Waaris” that fits her bill. One of my predictions was that Vinu should not be biologically V’s child and hence making him ineligible as a “Waaris” contender. Savi’s entry will fill a part since she would be Chavan blood, but she will be a girl child. Hence not fitting the critieria. This will be putting BK to test on her strongest myth/belief. Ninad and Ashwini will also need to learn that they can’t leave their children’s life and their fate to anyone. Even if it one of their own, they should intervene strongly rather than let the wrong win and destroying lives. Same goes for the others, who have always just played mere spectators or just added oil to the fire. Their nonchalant or malicious intentions can lead to irrevocable repercussions.
It is possible that Vinu is not Sairat child at all. If we go back to cowrie, I always felt that Sairat were only meant to have one child. And the other child was always at risk, hence the Mahanth had asked Sai to always keep the “Cowrie” with her. And they lost Vinu.
Now if this is indeed the Vinu they lost, then I feel this will only lay the foundation for Gen Leap if they are planning one. This will also mean P having a stronger bond with him in either situation since she was always with him. I wish Sai develops an instant bond.
While I say this, I do wish they are able to do justice to this start and give it the right treatment.
Sai is still holding Virat on his last words. And she feels that he had actually dispensed her from his life and even the news of her accident could change that. While she left she had said that V was only trying to keep Vinu with them and he didn’t care if Sai left. And all these feelings were strengthened when V didn’t come looking for her. As a police officer he was expected to use his resources and go for an extensive search, if he really loved her. A similar case when he didn’t go hunting for the goons who attacked Sai when she went looking for Geeta. From all this Sai deduced that she wasn’t as important to her as she assumed. V was not concerned whether she survived or not. The family just wanted to get rid of her.
Something which is unclear if Sai knows about Vinu not being found. Because, even in her flashbacks all she recalls is V’s last words to her. As a mother is meant to feel the guilt and remember him. We have not seen it. Not sure if this is to keep the suspense element alive.
But from what I feel, Sai would have been searching for Vinu and eventually seen V with the adopted child and concluded that V found the baby, and hence never attempted search further. She was relieved of her guilt partially assuming that her baby survived, but feeling responsible for putting him through this ordeal she decided to not pursue him further and let him live with the Chavans and V.
Sai will meet Vinu and she will connect with him, but will also get a glimpse into current Chavans household dynamics that will be misinterpreted. Probably Vinu addressing P as “Ma”. Also, I don’t feel Vinu will recognize Sai, and that will increase her resentment.
We have seen Sai’s side so far, but yet to know how V feels about it. What is his state of mind?
Words
Will ties this back to my review on the episode when Sai left CN. There were lot of mean words spoken and some ugly accusations. Death can make one reflect like none. While Sai still continues to hold her anger and grudge, for V it is different. For him Sai is no more, and he would ideally be carrying the burden of it. Her death should make him regret and repent. His own words would play heavy on him when he was unable to see Sai’s body or perform her last rites.
Until he finds Sai and knows of Savi’s existence he should be repenting. In fact, if he has reflected on what conspired and led to these circumstances, he will not repeat it. He was blind in anger and had no control over his senses and events that followed. And should have learnt his lesson the hard way that his anger has always been led to drastic consequences, the last being catastrophic. If nothing else, he should know better to keep his anger on check.
PS - However, in all this there is one thing that doesn’t sit well. Why would Vinu now know of Sai? If V regrets everything and misses Sai what made them remove the proofs of her existence from CN. (This is on my assumption that Vinu does not know about Sai).
