I would differ a bit in the story over here, according to the famous folklore - Shiva doesn't lie down as a dead person but lies in her path from destruction, when she refuses (in her anger) to listen or hear Shiva. When she steps on Shiva, her world comes crumbling down... that in her rage, krodh, anger - she had done the "sin" which she could've never imagined, stamping & causing harm to her husband. Her husband is her everything, an equal partner, she has immense respect for him & vice versa.

There's another small story on why stepping on her husband is a big thing for Kali, its actually part of a discussion between Parvati & Shiv in much advance.. Now I'll not get into that story 😆

You can find many photos, even wallpapers (not the computer/mobile ones but real wallpapers on the walls) - where Shiva is seen opening his eyes & she's about to stamp him. You can find some famous paintings in the "Vijayawada's" famous "Kanaka Durga temple" as well.

With the rest I agree with you, just wanted to make a minor point on how people interpret at various parts.

Sure I was also not sure that why I asked for opinions. Totally get it. My version is something I heard from some random source so it could be dubious.
