I dont know marathi that much, but I think Sai is a flower (like Jui) fragrant and ever fresh..
Virat is huge, mainly denotes bravery and valour.
You can expand to other characters as well. I dont know what is the meaning of Patralekha. Pakhi means flower petals/birds wings.
Sai as far as I know is saint or pure. Sai baba comes from there.
Virat means gigantic and majestic, not limited. Like in virat Swaroop of lord Vishnu
samrat means emperor, (hence limited 😅)
Patralekha literally means ‘writing on a leaf(patra).’ It could be imagined like calligraphy or beautiful writing. Or could also mean a letter written on the leaf. May be here in ghum we could imagine a person who writes her own destiny?
kamal Joshi- lotus hence pure and untouched be muddy waters around. Joshi is a Brahmin clan I guess who were astrologers?!
Bhavani - life source, ma Parvati, powerful
Chavan/Chauhan - is a kshatriya akin to rajputs I guess. I read in the beginning from quora
Chavan clan belongs to the 96 kuli Maratha clans. They claim descent from the Chahamana Kshatriya clan (Chauhan Rajputs), but not necessarily all claim descent from the Chauhans of Ajmer (Samrat Prithviraj's clan).
BK keeps boasting of their family and pakhi because of this 😅
mohit - enchanter
Ashwini - there is a star by that name. Not sure of complete etymology in saskrit
Ninad - sound
Actually the main 4 characters and kamal and BK have some significance in the story.
