May be Bhavani sent her to some unknown location in the name of studies with the help of Ninad & Omkar and brought her back after she delivered the baby.

I guess they're told she was in hostel for study. Because for all the family members the narrative was same — Devyani was found unconscious in hostel and when came into consciousness, she was behaving like a mentally unstable person
