What. A. Treat! This episode was jus- Wow...I have no words. Doesn’t feel like the previous ghum. I have not been watching for 3 weeks, and this was an amazing episode to return to. Can feelings ooze out of the screen and melt all over your heart? Cause that’s what happened. Btw did they change their cinematographer, cause this cinematography is beyond ghum’s capabilities.
As much as I am dreading the separation, I think the intensity of this episode got multiplied because the separation is looming over our heads. We know that things are going to get ugly, that’s why the love and happiness is so overpowering.
Something I wanted to discuss was Virat telling Sai his Dil ki Baat. Does Virat himself know his dil ki baat? WE know his dil ki baat but does he? Don’t gemme wrong, I agree that Virat is in love with Sai. That’s a fact now. (Can’t say the same for Sai. She loves him, sorta, but is she IN love with him?) However, this is the same Virat who wants Sai to understand his feelings through his twisted gestures and jalebis. I don’t think he can so readily confess without fully realising what exactly he is confessing. The only reason I’m not dwelling on this aspect of today’s episode is because Ik that the confession is never gonna happen. But if it did, it is kind of a mystery what Virat will say to Sai. What Sai would say, that to god only knows.
Loved how formal Virat was with Didi. He might have given Sai loads of jalebis regarding his relationship with Didi, but to PP, he has told the plain hard truth. She’s just another family member to him. According to me and most others I believe, there’s no friendship either. Hopefully if Didi’s letter antics are revealed to Virat, then after the separation, he will just ignore her. Nothing will piss her off more than that.
Bonus points for the symbolism and metaphors in today’s episode. Virat and Pakhi’s formal relationship, and Sai and Virat’s raw real relationship was conveyed beautifully through the gulaal. Sai rubbing off Didi’s gulaal, was basically Sai nonchalantly clearing Pakhi’s delusions. Sai feeding everyone just shows how she spreads love and cares about everyone, while ‘kitna sochti ho tum sabke baare mein’ bahu stood in the corner, lamenting the loss of someone who was never hers. (Patralekha has dug her own grave by not forming any real bonds with anyone. Her loneliness is completely on her.) I’m sure I am missing some instances as well.
All in all, a heartwarming precursor to weeks of heartbreak.
