So let me get this straight...

Akash humiliates Gauri repeatedly, and gets his friends to basically sexually harass and I would go so far as to say assault Gauri...and yet he is going to "change" and they will get married and live happily ever after. Good idea. Send the messsage to millions of women around the world that a wretched person like that can change. Encourage women to stay with their abusive boyfriends and husbands! Good job team Betiyaan. This is exactly what I would expect from a show where murderers are forgiven and embraced, and a pack of women can burn a man alive and get away with it. Just another day on planet Betiyaan!

Just see the portrayal of woman .

A girl , who has been branded all her life as ' stupid ' . She has constantly been overshadowed by her 3 sisters who made decisions for her as she was branded as the ' simpleton ' of the family . She was the most difficult to get married off as she was rejected coz of her plain looks , lisp in speech and spectacles. Finally , at the most crucial juncture , this girl , when her other sisters join in a business , opts to do an independent job , gets acquainted with a real nice capable lady and surprisingly does rather well in the job . She is just in the process of finding herself and then our brilliant scriptwriters do what ?

They mess up the storyline , of course . Insted of showing how the girl starts idolizing Devyani , who is totally opposed to her own stay at home godly mom Savitri , and learning a lot from her , realizing the diffrence between her mother and Devyani as a mother who doesn't hesitate in coming down heavily on Akash , observing her as a career woman , this girl Gauri starts acting like a desperate attention starving gal who inspite of observing Akash's flirtatious tendencies , is perfectly willing to become his latest fling .

Even if Akash had paid attention to Gauri , what was the guarantee he would be serious about her or change ? None . She had observed his flirtatious cad like behaviour on a daily basis and tolerating him as a MD for professional reasons is one thing and wanting a personal relation with him is quite another . And since Gauri was a decent gal , one wud expect her to be horrified at the thought .

But Gauri , far from being horrified , is gratified . Women r only out to marry , marraige is the goal . Career is a front is the message .

After what Akash did , he is not redeemable . Surely after observing Bhavishya , Gauri wouldnt like being associated with such a person who threw her like a piece of meat in front of wolves .......lecherous guys .

But Akash's punishment is gonna be Devyani walking in Garodia household asking for Gauri's hand in marraige for her son . This is gonna be shown as Devyani's sense of justice .[ And in the process mess up her character too .]

So see the portrayal of women . See how Devyani and Gauri r messed up and how Akash and Yuvraj r redeemed . The scriptwriters have apallingly crude and chauvinistic minds . Confirmed .

What is totally lacking in this story line is a simple love story - two people of equal status (education, financial, social) meeting under normal circumstances - riding the bus together, meeting in a canteen or simply working together at the same level.

Gauri, according to me, is the most "normal" sister simply because they have shown her flaws...surely they should have shown her to have some form of self-respect instead of falling for Akash in spite of his flirting behaviour.

Next, they will go on to show Gauri having a make-over suddenly being transformed into a flawless beauty...
