Gauri is the 2nd dauther of the Garodia family, who is the most innocent and shy out of all the daughters. But her character is changing NOW. She is starting to stand up for herself and the family.
But since she was shy and innocent in the beginning, she wasnt so outgoing. Thats the reason no guys noticed her much or fell for her.
Thats why she is still unmarried despite being 28 years old.. while her other sisters got married, except one. That sister is the youngest one, her name is Jhanvi, she is considered to be the pretiest one thats why she has been getting proposals left and right. Jhanvi used to be a prostitute because her mother, the second wife of Suryakant Garodia, Menka, swaped her with her brother's son, because Suryakant married her for the sole reason of getting a son.
In the mean time, Gauri and Jhanvi gets to be best friends.
They sent a rishta to this guy for gauri, but Menka (Jhanvi's mother and Gauri's step mom) sent Jhanvi's pic with Gauri's pic, and the Larke wale liked Jhanvi and sent her the rishta instead of Gauri. Because she wears glasses.
That really hurt gauri and every one else..
Because Gauri got dissed again.. But at the end the marriage dosnt take place because they find out about Janvi's past that she used to be a prostitute.
THEN, a lot of episodes later, Nikhil comes, and falls in love with Jhanvi, proposes her, Jhanvi says that I used to be a prostitute do you still love me? Nikhil says yes. So they are all happy, and Nikhil says he would go to her house for rishta. So that day comes, and every one is busy getting ready.. Gauri being Jhanvi's best friend is helping her get ready.. and their aunt Phulki starts to talk shit, about how Gauri is always busy for others marriage, when she is the older sister and is unmarried.. and that how every one in the area is talking about this, that how come all the younger sisters are getting married and she isnt. So that makes Gauri reallllly upset..
and Jhanvi notices that.
so Nikhil comes, and every one says yes to the marriage, EXCEPT Jhanvi. she said she wont get married.. So nikhil asks her why ( in a quiet place away from every one) Jhanvi says she wont get married unless Gauri gets married.. So Nikhil says ok..
Then Jhanvi's mother gets mad at her for saying no to Nikhil, and asks her why did she do that, and kept on pushing her till she explodes and says, "I cant see Gauri didi like this, it really hurts me, so I decided i wont marry till she does"
Menka says, why are you ruining your life for her? etc etc
and Gauri hears that, and tries to run away, but she gets caought, then she goes to her room and closes the door and pops a lot of sleeping pills and tries to commit suicide. But they get her to the hospital and save her.
Then one day the pundit brings a rishta for gauri, but that family wants a lot of money and the half of everything they own, just because Gauri isnt that fair and wears glasses..
but gauri comes and stands up for herself and the family by saying.. a lot of strong words and tells them to get out..
that was the first time i seen her strong..
So yea she is changing..
