Rainabow, I am going to have to disagree with you on a few points:
Rasik being a better father than Suryakant? Look I can't stand the guy and his mentality/ignorance at times, but Surya at the core is a good, loving, and honest man who tries to live by good values (excluding of course the two wives thing). You mentioned Rasik was better because he raised an independent girl vs. the Garodia gang. What the Garodia girls are today is a reflection of backward or limited thinking and the failure of the women in the household to carve out their own identities and goals. At minimum, they must watch TV and hence, are exposed to newer possibilities for women. Despite being despotic and sexist, Suryakant has learned and loves his daughters. Their pain is his pain. Their happiness is his happiness. And he is the bedrock for his daughters, providing security and shelter. This is what a father is, not Rasik who put her in school and was distant. You can see from the way Jhumki (love the name by the way--has "kotha" written all over it--Kajri) has reacted that she is angry, bitter, and mean-spirited given what she's been through. Rasik's handiwork.
"She has the right to punish the Garodias for ruining her life." In actuality, they've done nothing to her. It was Menka and Rasik who ruined her life. I know some responses say that the Garodias pressured Menka so much that she was forced to do the baby-swap. How society and Baa/Surya forced her into a corner. That is such crap. There is such a thing as personal responsibility and integrity. Menka was a gold-digger who only saw cha-ching. She and Rasik worked hard to make sure Suryakant married her. The baby swap was only an extention or manifestation of HER greed and ruthlessness... HER love for attention and power. How can any woman give her baby away (given this context only), lavish love on Yuvraj and not even worry or think about the daughter she gave away? Cha-ching! Remember, folks, before rolling out the pity carpet a la Savitri, that she killed Karan---KILLED. I'm not talking about threatening or manipulating things -- SHE HELPED KILL LAKSHMI'S HUSBAND. It's so sick and flawed. SHE WOULD HAVE KILLED HER OWN DAUGHTER TO PRESERVE HER STATUS AND WEALTH. That Bi*ch deserves to go up in flames! Poof!
