I'm really disappointed with this new Rohan character... its been completely lifted off of Bidaai. Not only that, Rohan's acting is practically the SAME as Alekh's. The way he speaks, the scenarios they have been creating. Its a COMPLETE cut-to-cut of Alekh's character from Bidaai.
Take today's episode for example, the scene of Rohan at a shop wanting something badly and creating a scene over it - similar scene in Bidaai earlier only there it was a sari store. Even how Rohan walks with his hands holding his shirt - same as Alekh's. Now Rohan has even started speaking like Alekh, calling Laxmi 'achi' [good]... I wouldn't be surprised if Rohan begins calling Laxmi his 'dost' soon like Alekh does.
U cant even really compare the two, Angad Hasija portrays the role of Alekh sooo well... all Rohan does is copy him. I'm really terribly disappointed with the Betiyaan creatives... they've always thought up of unique ideas uptil now. Wish they hadn't straight out copied Bidaai's track. It would be a diffrent story if Rohan had his own style of acting it out as mental. As of now, he's been completely copying Alekh's style... and its getting pretty annoying watching an imitation.
Hats off to Bidaai anyway, for creating such a wonderful and unique character like Alekh, that makes creatives from other shows want to bring out a character like Alekh in their shows👏 Unfortunately, Betiyaan's imitation is definitely not even close to the original.

yeah i totally agree with you.. i was dissapointed when i first saw him too.. cuz the episode before he was introduced.. i thought sataykamm would appear but it turned out to be him , and not only that his character is very annoying because we've allready seen these kind of scenes in other drama's as kruthi mentioned.
Creatives of Betyiaan PLEASE don't make Lakshmi run in circles again because i am pretty sure their going to make her fall in love with rohan just how they made her fall for Karan when Satyakam passed away.

😊 I agree with ur full post [ Rohan is disappointing etc] except this part . Since when have the ideas of Beityaan creatives been unique ? The courtcase was a straight lift off Damini [ they even used the same name and switched it to give it to the lawyer herself , and so scared were they that they cudnt pull it off that they tried to cash in that name ' Damini ' and arouse nostalgia to gain TRps . The fact that the court case was a flop was another example of their ' unique creativity ' . The songs in the parties r lifted from films just like other serials .
Creativity wud have been there if the girls wud have been shown not content sitting at home but trying to be independent . All the women .....Kajri , Baa , the betiyaan , Savitri , Niyati , the mother in laws of the betiyaan .....all r home ., wearing saris , and facing petty politics and being miserable.
Kruthi there is no creativity on any level ......even the dress sense . Saris after marraige and salwar kameez the moment u become a widow [ Laxmi ] . What logic is this ? Even the saris r the same....heavily brocaded . Sometimes i often wonder how they use it for day to day wear as it is is so difficult to wash such saris . The god and poojas , the hand on the diya by Savitri , the falling at the feet of males , the concept of khandaan name and waaris....all r used ideas . Even the exchange of babies at birth.....an old hindi film typical idea .
The only refreshing idea was in the title Betiyaan ....instead of bahus and saas like other serials where i had felt the four daughters wud be winners after seeing the fate of their mom and wud try to e every bit unlike her ........and i was sorely disappointed .
I agree with the rest of ur post ......its extremely annoying to see such blatant copying .

^Yea, can't disagree with that... Betiyaan def hasnt always brought up unique ideas, and lifted ideas from diff places often. I was just trying to be optimistic abt Betiyaan's lovvvvvely tracks😆
Anyway... my point was that, even though Betiyaan creatives lack in creativity... blatantly copying characteristics & personalities of characters from different shows is really disappointing and pathetic.

i'd go further and say almost all indian entertainment is lifted from somewhere, isn't it? we see the same themes in bollywood over and over, and also in serials. i can't say i'm surprised. i am really tired of this particular theme though--the adult with the mind of a child, who will serendipitously win the heart of some unsuspecting man or woman who will take care of them and eventually "cure" them. hello, these disorders and problems CAN'T BE CURED.

The new character hasn't really made an impact on me as a viewer yet this track worked in Banoo main teri dulhan and Bidaai really well but it doesn't seem to be doing anything for Betiyaan so far. And I don't think they should have killed Karan off in the first place!

i agree wid u guys
that what i thought when i saw rohan...he's a dupliacte copy of alekh...onli angad hasija is better n alekh seems cuter
its just the betiyaan creatives using the mentally challenged male and the helpless female charecter to make the track interesting n increase trps
it worked in dulhan where vidya is all chup chap n illiterate n sagar is mentally challenged
it worked in bidaai where alekh is mentally challenged n sadhna is helpless
n now betiyaan is doing their version of rahan being alekh no. 2 n lakshmi being tragedy queen-being widowed twice
