Hey guys,

In an article on www.televisionpoint.com Darshan Dave talsk about the fact that he didn't get enough attention in GES so went looking for other roles. I quote the part of the article where he comments...............

Darshan Dave plays an army officer and enacted the role of an outlaw in his last serial, 'Ghar Ek Sapna', for which he also received best actor's award from Indian Television Academy."Despite getting appreciation for my negative roles, I was not getting as much attention as the lead pair would get. So I decided to play the role of a hero this time. For this role, I am updating myself with all kinds of information and technicalities related to the life of an army officer."

This science student from Jaipur is not in hurry as he turned down offers for cameo roles from directors like Prakash Jha and Ram Gopal verma. "I definitely want to work in Hindi films, but only major roles. The roles which do not make any difference to the storyline are not acceptable to me." He certainly trusts his acting skills enough to be this confident.

I can understand Darshan's point, latley GES seems to be going every where. The creative team really need to concentrate on one subject. First we had an overdose of Devika & Vicky thank god it's over, now we have Seema hitting on Rishabh how sick is that. Tara is right about her mom. I don't know about anyone else but lateley I feel like GES= 😕 😕 yawn city. I want to see Sujit & Neha stories more.

I have had enough of this. I really fail to comprehend what all of you see in Dave. He is a "one trick pony", he managed to portray his role in GES with sucess but that is about it.Who was he before this? What has he done in his other roles?Absolutely, NOTHING. It completely sickens me when people compare him to the likes of "SRK" or "Big B", like it or not, there will never be another SRK or another Big B, those two are simply irreplaceable. Dave is another thing. He comes of as arrogant to me. He wants everything handed to him on a golden platter. He genuinely beleives he is all "that".Well let me tell you something:You aren't all that. He thinks directors should just hand him major roles for big budget films. Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Nearly every single major star from Dalip Kumar to Big B to SRK has had to work his way up the corporate "ladder". They didn't just become major superstars over night. Big B's first "picture" was a low budget film, with a low paycheck, and he had to play multiple roles. He slowly worked his way, accepting whatever work he could get, and he played it with his heart and soul, that is how he came to become arguably the most prominent star of Bollywood. Shah Rukh Khan, had to work for quite some time in some serial(s), name "Soldier", and he did so with all his effort, and directors recognized his talent and he went on from there to become "King Khan". Dilip Kumar had to change his name to mask his religon and work his way from the bottom to get to the top. What has Dave done?He thinks he is too good for roles, and refuses to work.He just wants it instantly. Otherwise, he wouldn't be upset with GES, it is arguably his best role, in an innovative serial, where he is getting just as much attention as the lead stars despite being a supporting cast. Yet, he still isn't happy. I will break it to you simply in my modest opinion he is NOT cut out to be a "Hero" in today's Bollywood. He is too short, he doesn't have the "right face", simply put he doesn't have the "looks". And his acting skills have still yet to be proved. Regardless of what you GES fans think, he doesn't fit the mould of the "hero" that has been used since the dawn of Bollywood. He should be grateful that despite being a supporting character on GES, he is getting the attention he is, instead he wants more. It is on the back of the ingenious character of "Sujeet" he got to where he is, and he wants to cast it aside? What has he accomplished with his other roles such as the one mentioned earlier in this thread?A few weeks/months ago during the Sujeet-Trisha "pregnancy complication" plot, when he was doing that dance with Trisha, he looked awkward, he didn't look like a Hero to me. How is he going to do all the dancing that comes with Bollywood movies?I realize Trisha is not a beauty queen herself, but still doesn't excuse sujeet. Guys like SRK, Big B look just as gorgeous even when they are with the less attractive actresses. Speaking of actresses, who are they going to pair him with in Bollywood Movies? Rani?Ash?Priyanka?Kareena?, he doesn't suit any of them. He would look out of place with any of the top actresses in Bollywood today. That is why he should shut his mouth, and put some effort into GES, because the "small" screen is where he belongs, he is a TV actor at best. To some extent our industry is to blame for that. I being desi, was talking to a "white" professeur of mine, and he noted how Bollywood is the land of gorgeous and romance. That is to say, if you aren't attractive the general public will never accept you. What message does that send out? That normal people like you and me can't fall in love?Seriously, when was the last time you saw a "normal" looking person in a sucessful film in a major role?Never. Take a look at hollywood, while they do have beautiful stars too, the general public appreciates acting unlike Bollywood fans who don't see anything except Romance and beautiful people. The hollywood fans are open minded and have a critical mind when it comes to movies. Our Bollywood fans are close minded, refuse to see anything except SRK and others alike. That is why you will find actors and actresses on the small screen that are just as talented as SRK or other actors but they will never make it to big screen because they aren't attractive but this has been going around since the start of Bollywood, and if hundreds of superstars have made it "big time", then Dave should be no exception to this rule. If he wants to make it Big time he is going to have to fit that mould, and unfortunately he doesn't fit it. As flawed as this mould may be, it is all we have. If Dave fit that mould, make no mistake about it, he would be staring in major roles, because our directors know money when they see it The fact of the matter is he doesn't. He is not the complete package, that is why at best he is a TV actor or rather supporting cast. I can't even see Dave as a lead role for a TV serial let alone a a lead role for a major film. If he doesn't wisen up, he won't have his career in the small screen either. There is an old saying that is so common in these serials whenever the main characters lose their wealth, "No work is too small", Dave needs to embrace that.I know that this will no doubt make a lot of you upset, and that is certainly not my intention. This is just my modest opinion. I could go on and on but I think this is enough.

Dear member, your post is being edited because despite of the attempt you made you did not succeed to be modest and polite in criticizing the actor. Using rude statements like telling the actor to shut up or giving him the stigmata of a arrogant and small screen fitted actor will not be tolerated.

The parts which are rude are edited out from your story. Please keep in mind for next time.

Thanks for your understanding

So apparently because I displayed a view different than the management team here and the general public, that makes my views "baseless". I came here expecting a mature and open minded discussion but I suppose that was not meant to be. I am dissapointed that the management would edit my post here when it didn't contain anything offensive. I will go over each of the editted parts or in other words whatever the management here has deemed "inappropriate". So I noted that he doesn't have the "looks", I didn't call him ugly, I as a fan simply don't find him to my liking. Is that really a violation of the rules here or rather something you people simply didn't want to hear? Then, I noted the "awkward" part, so I thought he didn't display "great" dancing skills, why did that need to be editted? Again, I don't see anything rude here, simply a critique, but yet it was censored because the management didn't want to hear it.Yes, I am aware the people here are huge Sujeet fans, and thats fine, but what ever happened to open minded discussion? Then I noted that Trisha isn't a "beauty queen", what is so "rude" about that? I didn't call Trisha "ugly" or label her inappropirately, I simply stated that she doesn't look like the heroines that you see on TV today. Again, I did nothing but state my opinion and that too in a civil manner but simply because Darshan Dave is a favorite here as well as Trisha, apparently that makes my opinion "rude" and "baseless". After that I noted the Dave doesn't "suit" any of Bollywood's current actresses. What is wrong with that view?I simply don't think he would make a good "jodi", how is that offensive?Once again its not something offensive, rather something you didn't want to hear so you editted my post. Then I noted "he should shut his mouth", yes maybe this is the ONE comment that might have been offensive but as a fan of GES I take great offense to Darshan being unapreciative of the oppurtunities he has been presented. None, the less I apologize for this one comment. Then I noted that he doesn't fit the "mould" and that I don't see him a "major film star".What is wrong with that?If I can't imagine Dave as a major film star, what I ask is wrong with that?It is his job as an actor to convince me. I didn't insult him, I just said as a fan of Bollywood, I can't picture him as a major role, so what I ask is wrong with that?So simply because you don't want to hear something, it suddenly becomes "rude", and "innappropriate". So far the parts of my post that didn't satisfy the wants have been editted despite being CIVIL, I am rather dissapointed with the management team over here and how they have decided to censor views that contradict their own. Regardless, this is your board, if you want to keep it close minded and narrow, have it your way, I assure you I certainly won't oppose your beloved Sujeet ever again or bother projecting my views in such a civil manor again in a board that doesn't welcome open minded discussions. I am not leaving, I simply won't post anything that doesn't mimic the general views on this board henceforth.

Dear member,

Most of your text was edited because it would lead to uneccessary arguments and attacks from members who are fans of sujeet and trisha.

You also criticized the actor's looks (short, not suited for bollywood) and capabilities (not fit for big screen) and this is not allowed because it will hurt other fans. it is also not allowed to comment on personal characteristics of the actor

Yes we are allowed to be open minded but we should not forget that we should take in to account the feelings of ALL members before we express our selves.

Furthermore we would like to stress that these rules are not set up by this sections development team. They are general rules to be followed in ALL sections of India-Forum.com.

Instead of blaming us, if you have a complaint against the development team then please try to solve it by dropping us a PM

Thanks

So if you feel you have a right to critisize someone others love and nobody should feel offended then why do you have to give such a loooooooooooong clarification if we all feel your comments are funny, why should you feel offended, infact if a nobody like you can have such a big ego, imagine how can we consider you worth commenting on a person we adore....
..also this is not the way to make a place among a group by hurting their liking 😡 ,dont you think you should fight so much for actors you like rather than fight with people who like others, why are you insulting the actor, his fans and the management,I agree with jinu, you are simply prejudiced for I dont know what reason, trying to prove a point like lions are herbivorous and elephants are slim 😆 😆
