Darshan Dave has done a few commercials and telly films.
He makes his debut in a serial with Ghar-Ek Sapna...

A little about your character in Ghar-Ek Sapna …
Sujeet is a newly married, good-looking don from Bihar. He's enraged when he sees a Mumbaiite flirting with his sister-in-law at a wedding in Bihar. He forces the guy to marry her at gun point. For some he is a hero but he is a villain for the rest.

Isn't this too far-fetched?
It is not like Mumbai. These things happen in small towns of Bihar. They also do this if they don't find a suitable match for a girl.

Do you feel this was the right role to debut with on television?
I found this character very positive. I'd a choice between playing Sujeet and the hero. However, I felt that it was better to be strongly negative than being cheaply negative. Anyway, it has always been my childhood fantasy to play a strong, larger than life character.

What have you done before this?
I've done a few commercials besides telly films with Ajai Sinha and Ravi Chopra.

How about films?
I would love to do films but only main leads for me. Otherwise, I am happy doing central characters on television.

Don't you feel that it's difficult to get good film offers once you become a recognisable face on television?
I don't think there are rules like that. You never know. Here singers become actors and film actors become TV actors. The first person who breaks out of the mould becomes a sort of trendsetter. I've never planned my career. I've realised that it doesn't work for me. Today I believe in taking each step at a time and giving off my best. You keep moving ahead if you keep proving yourself at every step. Call it destiny, hard work, or luck but I think that is the way to move in this industry.

Jatin Grewal is a popular model who is making his debut on the small screen with Zaara-Pyaar Ki Saugat.

What attracted you to the show?
There have been a few offers before but I turned them down. I decided only recently that I should do television. I got a call asking me if I was interested in doing this show. I liked the concept and decided to go ahead with it. There has been no show with a Muslim backdrop since almost four years. It has more mass appeal, as 45% of the television viewing audience is Muslims. But at the same time it's not typically Muslim. It is very contemporary.

Rahul happened many years ago. Are you disappointed that your film career hasn't happened?
Not at all! I see it as just the beginning for me. I am still young and kicking. I'm glad that whatever I've achieved so far has been on my own steam.

Are you still modelling?
Yes, I will continue to do fashion shows. Just recently, I did the 'Lakme Fashion Week', Manish Malhotra, and Shahid Aamir's shows. I want to do a blend of both, acting and modelling.

Would you do another television serial as well?
I don't think I'd have the time for that. I would rather concentrate on this show and my modelling assignments.

Any dream role?
I want to play Bond. That is because I just saw the Bond film (laughs). My dream role keeps changing every time I watch a good film.

How about a woman in your life?
I'm single ready to mingle. I am looking for a serious relationship. I don't know if I want to get married or not but I surely want to have babies (smiles).

After playing diametrically opposite characters in Palkhi, Abhay Vakil is relieved at the thought of playing a lady charmer in Zaara-Pyaar Ki Saugat...

A little about your character in Zaara-Pyaar Ki Saugat...
Samar is a lady charmer and is mesmerised by Zaara. He is obsessed with her. He's a positive character but can turn negative if someone tries to take away his love from him. He is justified in his action from his perspective, as he's just being protective and possessive about his girl.

What attracted you to the show?
The fact that it was a Muslim-based show. Most of the shows on television now are Hindu based. There is an overdose of 'karva chaut' happening on television now.

Does it worry you that the show is female-oriented?
Not at all! It does not worry me as long as my role is good. My character has different shades to his personality and is well moulded into the storyline. I also like the way I am dressed on the show. It's good to make a fashion statement on the show. Personally, I love dressing up. One has to face the fact that television is female-oriented unlike films that are male-dominated. This is because there is more female viewer ship on television.

How do you want to see yourself a few years from now?
I want to concentrate on one good show on television at a time. I believe in competing with myself and bettering my previous performance. I have also written a script for a film and am in the process of meeting people from various production houses. Besides, I would also like to act in films. I want to see a positive growth in my career graph.
