Hey Guys! Here is Chapter 2!

Chapter 2 – The Silent Storm

The hospital room was quiet again after Geet’s footsteps faded into the corridor. Only the faint hum of the air conditioner and the steady beeping of the monitor filled the silence. But inside Maan Singh Khurana, silence was the last thing that existed.

His fists clenched tighter on the sheets, his jaw locked as if holding back a war within.

“Geet…” The name slipped out of his lips in a whisper before he realized. He froze, eyes snapping open.

Why had he said her name? Why did it feel so familiar on his tongue?

He shut his eyes again, frustrated. Yeh ladki kaun hai? Aur kyu… kyu uske aansoon mujhe disturb kar rahe hain?

He had faced business rivals, accidents, and betrayals without letting emotions rule him. But one stranger’s tears… they shook him. And that scared him more than anything.

Meanwhile, in the hospital corridor, Geet leaned against the wall, tears streaming freely now that she was out of his sight. Her legs gave way, and she slid down slowly, her dupatta pooling around her. She clutched it to her chest, muffling her sobs.

Her mind screamed, Babaji, yeh aapne mere saath kaisa mazaak kiya? Woh mere saamne hai, zinda hai, par mujhe pehchanta nahi…

She remembered their first encounter, their endless fights, his protectiveness, his love — every memory felt like salt on a fresh wound now. But even in her brokenness, her determination remained unshaken.

She wiped her face with trembling hands. Maan ko wapas yaad aayega. Uske dil ko main haarne nahi dungi.

Inside, Daadima observed Maan silently. She had known him since childhood — his stubbornness, his pride, his fierce independence. And she knew he was fighting something bigger than memory loss: his heart.

“Maan beta,” she said gently, walking closer. “Tum bahar se strong ho, lekin main jaanti hoon… andar se tumhe kuch mehsoos hua hai.”

Maan’s eyes snapped to hers, irritation flashing. “Daadima, please. Mujhe kuch mehsoos nahi hua. Woh ladki… jo bhi hai… meri zindagi mein koi jagah nahi rakhti.”

Daadima gave him a small, sad smile. “Beta, kabhi kabhi dil woh yaad rakhta hai jo dimaag bhool jaata hai. Tum chaahe kitna bhi inkaar karo, tumhari aankhon ne sab keh diya tha.”

Maan turned his face away, his throat tightening. “Main… main confuse nahi ho sakta, Daadima. Main apni life facts pe jeeta hoon. Emotions aur illusions pe nahi.”

But the words sounded hollow even to him.

That night, as the rain poured outside, Maan lay in his hospital bed, restless. Sleep refused to come. Every time he closed his eyes, flashes tormented him.

Her eyes, shining with tears.

Her voice, breaking yet firm: “Main kabhi haar nahi manungi, Maan.”

Her hand on his wrist, her touch burning into his skin.

He sat up abruptly, running a hand through his hair. His chest tightened painfully, an ache he didn’t want to acknowledge.

“Kya ho raha hai mujhe? Yeh… kyun lagta hai jaise main usse pehle se jaanta hoon?” He pressed his palms against his temples, trying to push away the images. “Mujhe concentrate karna hoga. Mujhe apne aap pe control karna hoga.”

But no matter how much he tried, her face refused to leave his mind.

The next morning, Geet entered the hospital again, carrying a tiffin. Her eyes were swollen from crying, but her resolve made her walk straighter. She knew Maan wouldn’t accept her easily. But she also knew she couldn’t let him push her away completely.

As she entered the room, Maan looked up from his file. Even injured, he had insisted on catching up on work. His sharpness was back — but his eyes betrayed the sleepless night he had spent.

She placed the tiffin on the side table quietly. “Maine aapke liye khana banaya hai.”

Maan’s eyes narrowed. “Maine tumse kaha tha… door raho mujhse.”

Geet took a deep breath. “Aap mujhe bhula sakte ho, Maan. Lekin main aapko bhool nahi sakti. Aap mujhe apni life se nikalna chahte ho, lekin main aapke liye apni life sacrifice kar chuki hoon. Yeh rishta sirf ek sign ya paper se nahi banta… yeh dil se banta hai.”

Maan slammed his file shut, his frustration breaking through. “Bas! Tumhe samajh nahi aata? Main tumhe nahi jaanta! Tum meri zindagi mein nahi ho. Jo tum keh rahi ho, woh mere liye ek kahani hai — jismein main character bhi nahi banna chahta.”

His voice thundered in the room, but Geet didn’t flinch. Tears welled in her eyes, but her stance was unyielding.

She whispered, “Phir bhi main aapke saath rahungi. Kyunki main jaanti hoon… aapka dil mujhe pehchanta hai. Chahe dimaag na maane.”

Maan stared at her, anger and confusion battling inside him. For a moment, he wanted to drag her out, to erase her presence. But another part of him — a softer, hidden part — couldn’t bear to see her in pain.

His silence spoke louder than words.

That night, Daadima found Geet sitting alone in the hospital garden, staring at the stars.

“Bahurani…” she said softly, placing a hand on her shoulder.

Geet quickly wiped her tears and looked up with a faint smile. “Daadima, main thik hoon.”

Daadima’s eyes glistened. “Main jaanti hoon, tum thik nahi ho. Par main yeh bhi jaanti hoon ke tum sabse zyada strong ho. Maan ke dil tak phir se rasta tumhi banaogi.”

Geet nodded, her eyes shining with determination. “Chahe kitna bhi waqt lage, Daadima… main Maan ko wapas yaad dilaungi ki woh sirf mera hai. Aur main uski.”

As the night deepened, both women sat under the sky — one praying silently, the other vowing silently — while inside, Maan turned restlessly in his bed, his heart waging a war against his mind.

A storm had begun. Not outside, but within.

And that’s it guys for chapter 2!

Memory loss is painful. The one who forgets doesn't know where they belong any more.

Even if he forgot, why did he have to be so cold? He can still be nice about it.

Hey Guys! Here is the next update!

Chapter 3 – An Unknown Pull

The morning sun filtered weakly through the glass walls of Khurana Constructions. The city outside buzzed with life, but inside, a palpable tension filled the air. Employees walked briskly through the corridors, whispering among themselves. The news of Maan Sir’s accident had already spread, and so had the confusion about his return.

Geet stood at the entrance of the office, clutching her dupatta nervously. Her heart raced as she stepped into the building that had once felt like home — where every corner carried memories of him.

She remembered their first day working together, his stern commands, his impossible deadlines, the way his eyes had followed her despite his arrogance. She remembered laughter in the cafeteria, his hand shielding her in crowded elevators, the pride in his voice when he praised her work.

Now she was here again, but everything had changed. He had changed.

She whispered a silent prayer. Babaji, aaj bhi mujhe himmat dena… main Maan ke kareeb rehkar hi usse yaad dila paungi.

Upstairs, in the cabin that was his kingdom, Maan Singh Khurana sat with his usual authority. His sharp gaze moved over the blueprints spread before him, his pen tapping rhythmically against the desk. But no matter how hard he tried, the image of her tear-streaked face from the hospital lingered.

He clenched his jaw. Why can’t I stop thinking about her?

A knock at the door broke his thoughts. His assistant peeped in nervously. “Sir, woh… Mrs. Khurana… Geet Madam aayi hain.”

The pen snapped in his hand. “Don’t call her that,” he barked, his voice like steel. “Main tumhe kitni baar samjhaun — mujhe us ladki ke baare mein koi baat nahi sunni.”

The assistant shrank back, stammering, “Ji, Sir… lekin woh… reception pe wait kar rahi hain.”

Maan’s grip tightened on the broken pen. His mind screamed to throw her out, but his chest… his chest burned with something else. A pull. An urgency to see her. To make sure she was alright.

Damn it, Maan. Control yourself.

“Send her in,” he ordered curtly.

Geet entered slowly, her eyes meeting his. He was in his element here — suited perfectly, every line of his face sharp, every movement precise. For a second, her heart swelled with pride. This was her Maan.

But then his words shattered her moment.

“Kyun aayi ho yahan?” His tone was clipped, cold. “Maine tumse clear kaha tha — main tumhe apni zindagi mein nahi chahta.”

Geet swallowed hard, her hands clasped tightly. “Main aayi hoon… kyunki yeh sirf aapki zindagi nahi hai, Maan. Yeh hamari zindagi hai. Aur main apne rishtay se kabhi peeche nahi hatungi.”

His eyes blazed with anger, but before he could reply, a voice from the hallway interrupted.

“Geet Madam!” One of the junior staff hurried in, holding a file. “Yeh reports sign karne the, lekin—”

Before he could finish, he stumbled, the heavy file slipping from his hands. It hit the edge of the table, narrowly missing Geet’s foot.

“Careful!” Maan’s roar filled the cabin. He was on his feet in an instant, one hand pulling Geet protectively behind him, the other glaring daggers at the trembling staff member.

“If uske ek baal ko bhi nuksaan pohcha, tumhari naukri jaayegi!” His voice thundered, echoing in the room.

The employee stammered apologies, quickly gathering the papers before fleeing the room.

Geet stared at Maan, her heart pounding. His hand was still gripping her arm, firm and protective, exactly like before. For a moment, the world stopped. She could almost believe everything was back to normal.

“Maan…” she whispered, hope glimmering in her voice. “Aapko farq padta hai.”

As if realizing what he was doing, Maan let go of her abruptly, stepping back. His face hardened again. “Don’t misunderstand. Main kisi bhi employee ko hurt hone nahi deta. Yeh meri zimmedari hai. Bas.”

Geet smiled faintly, her tears threatening to fall. “Toh main bhi aapke liye bas ek zimmedari hoon, Maan?”

His silence was answer enough. But his eyes betrayed him — the storm raging inside them was visible, no matter how much he denied it.

Later that afternoon, Geet sat quietly in the cafeteria, untouched food before her. She could still feel the warmth of his hand on her arm.

Daadima’s words echoed in her mind: “Dil woh yaad rakhta hai jo dimaag bhool jaata hai.”

She whispered to herself, “Maan mujhe bhool gaye hain… par unka dil abhi bhi mujhe pehchanta hai.”

Upstairs, Maan stood at the glass window of his cabin, overlooking the city. But his eyes weren’t on the skyline — they were on her, sitting below in the cafeteria. He didn’t even realize when his gaze had sought her out.

His chest tightened. Her quiet strength, her silent tears — they stirred something he didn’t want to name. He pressed his palm against the glass, his reflection staring back at him.

“Why does it hurt… when she cries?” he whispered to himself.

For the first time, Maan Singh Khurana felt truly powerless — not against the world, but against his own heart.

That’s it for the update!!
