Kaam karte karte shaam ho gayi

‘Arre Geet tum nikli nahi’

G- Abhi toh 5 hi baje hain. Abhi kyun nikalna hai?

‘Hum log sab nikal rahe hain. Tumne suna nahi toofan aane wala hai, poore sheher mein red alert laga diya hai’

‘Maine toh apne husband ko bula liyaa hai, woh pick kar rahe hain mujhe. Tum bhi apne husband ko bula lo’

‘Haan, waise bhi tum durr rehti ho, raaste mein kuch jhaamele mein padh gai toh’

G- Aap log jao. Mera kaam pending hai. Main manage kar lungi

Itne din manage kiya hai. Ab kyun kisi ko bullaun, Geet thinks to herself

Raat ke 9:30 baj gaye hain

Baarish rukk nahi rahi

Saare sheher mein red alert hai

Sadko pe paani badh gaya hai

Raastein sunsaan hain, sab apne ghar jaa chuke hain flood ka sunke

Geet jaise taise main road tak pohonchti hai sochke ki shayad yahan se auto yaa buss mil jaaye

But aas paas bass sunsaan sadke hain

Zor zor se hawayein chal rahi hai ki samaan toofan ke saath udh raha hai

She is shocked seeing ki kuch pedh bhi gi gaye hain aur kamar tak paani hai

‘Koi baat nahi, Geet. Haunsla rakhe, aage kuch milega, chalti reh’

Suddenly there is a huge boom and the whole vicinity around her engulfs in darkness

She shrieks with panic & fear

She could see the water gushing over

She witnesses debris of things flowing with the water

Those debris sink into the open manholes on the road, which have become invisible due to the flood

Panic and fear spreads in her whole body

She had tried to put brave front but now she realizes that there are high chances of her tomorrow’s newspaper headline.

She needs help

She swallowes her ego and picks her phone to ask for help

Her phone barely has charge

She is still indecisive whom to call for help

She sees the last number who called her, and it was Maan

She dials his number

He picks up without Geet could further ponder

G-H…Hello Maan

Her voice is shaking due to mix of fear, panic and cold

M- Geet? Tum theek ho? Itni late…kaha ho tum?

He could sense the tension in her voice

G- Main…mujhe…I am stuck here…mujhe yahan kuch mil nahi arha hai….power bhi nahi hai….bohot paani hai…har jagah aur….

She is hardly making sense with her incohesive sentence

M- Main aaun lene?

G- Tum aaoge?

M- Kahan ho tum? Mujhe live location bhejo aur ek safe jagah pe khadi raho

G- Main abhi…

M- Live location bhejo

He hangs up

She quickly sends the live location

Her phone rings after a while again

M- Main aa raha hoon. Tum pedh ke neeche mat khadi raho, aur kisi ek height wali jagah pe khadi raho

G- Par tum…

M- Tumne live location bheja hai naa, main tumhe dhund lunga. Try and find a wooden stick, koi open manhole hoga toh pata chal jaayega aur live wire se bhi you will be safe. I will be there in 15 min

G- Hmm….main ek dukaan ke bahar hoon

M- Okay, wahin rehna

Those conversation was as if a dying man had found life. Her heart felt an unexplainable assurance

She felt as if everything will be taken care of

She will be safe

She doesn’t need to worry anymore

She doesn’t need to panic

‘Geet’

She hears her name

She starts to step into the cold rain towards the voice but is surprised to find herself not being strangulated by the icy drops

She looks up to find Maan holding an umbrella over her head, protecting her from the harsh rain drops

A smile of assurance and relief appears on her lips looking at him

Her cold hand feels the warmth of his hand as he softly holds her hand to guide her towards the car

She did not expect he would come

She did not expect he would come and rescue her like a real husband would do for his real wife

So Geet is trying hard to cope up with the situation & overpowering her irritation at least is being normal & civic to him which is good👍 Yup, kitni din aise chidhti rahegi

This new reporter seems to be quite known person to Maan & he knows his family too which seems quite interesting

So finally a red alert in city for storm hopefully Geet in her ego doesn't fall in any trouble Geet ke baare mein ekdum sahi guess kiya hai😉
