Fighting for a chance

Promise me something dad.. maan asked as he had to undergo the surgery. Maan had barred any single detail to go to her. Last she wanted to get free from him and he had done what she exactly wanted. He had signed the divorce papers for her release.

All the time they had been together maan only had seen her trying hard to adjust. He didn't saw her doing anything that she didn't want but that didn't crossed the line of dis respect.

She may not be able to accept his parents as hers but she never said that could hurt them. He loved her genuinely and she.. his wife who was his love first tried her hard. But she was not happy. In the period of almost two years they they knew each other, maan had seen her adjust to every little thing.

Her trying to adjust to his schedules or the futile attempt to please his parents. Whether her accompanying him to the parties she loathed or trying hard to give up her drinking. Maan had seen her getting extreme when she couldn't drink just because she wanted to try but then her resolve would break.

You will take care of her dad. She has nothing with her dad. She is aloof. She doesn't understand the complexities of life now but please if anything happens to me, promise me you will take care of her like you cared for me. He requested. His pale complexion, the haggard look, eyebags were a clear indication that he was not going to make.

Maan knew that it had been his fate but he didn't had any regrets.
