Chapter 111

Vikrant Khurana has taken a leave of absence from his show following the death of his niece who was to be born earlier this month.

Fans have been very understanding and share their love and support during this difficult time. For the show it’d mean less scenes of Veer. The director had opted to show Veer is on a business trip and apparently wanting to come to terms with his feelings for Maya.

Vikrant has kindly accepted a compromise of shooting for one scene only per week for the following weeks just so he has a presence in the show.

In related news, it is learned that the Khurana family are holding a quiet funeral in the mansion with only close family. It has been noted that Maan Khurana has not been going to the office nor his wife Geet. Many are saddened by the news of baby Khurana and wished the family well and hope to see them smiling again.

Vikrant pulled out his phone calling his PR team and telling them to put an end to this news, he doesn’t want to see another newspaper with their family’s grief being used for articles. His PR team quickly reassured they will get down to the bottom of this and find out where the source is getting information from and ensured that no more news will printed regarding the family.

"This is absolutely ridiculous" Karan said once Vikrant was off the phone. "Would they like garbage and cameras shoved in their faces if they were mourning? Reporters don’t respect privacy and spare anymore"

"Tell me about it" Vikrant sighed.

"How are they?" Karan asked.

"They’re still trying to process this" he answered. "Bhai has asked for space so we’ve left them alone. It’s difficult for them both because bhabhi has carried the baby for 9 months and they’ve bonded…"

"Yeah, it’s going to take them time to come to terms with this" Karan replied.

"How’s Araina and Aunty?" Vikrant questioned.

"They’re both hurt with the news, they’re not so great with coming to terms with this either" he sighed.

"Have you spoken to Amelia?"

"She’s distant at the moment, she’s not wanting to speak to anyone" Karan replied. He’d been trying to speak to Amelia but she’d withdrew herself and mourned in her own way.

"She said she wouldn’t be able to make it to the burial as well" Karan added.

"The burial will make it all the more real" Vikrant murmured. "And we still don’t want to believe this has happened to us"

Maan continued to think of what Aditya had told him and wondered whether he'd be able to go ahead with it. He looked down at his wife, she'd snuggled into his arms and slept on his chest, her dried tears stained her cheeks and the paleness of her once radiant face made his heart ache.

Seeing Geet like this made him all the more determined to take a chance but could he comfort his broken heart to part away from the people who've been supporting him for the past two weeks.

Had it not been for dadima and everyone else he probably wouldn't have been able to be the husband his wife deserved. Geet had refused to let anyone into her life at the moment, she had even refused to see her mother, she couldn't bring herself to meet their eyes and see the disappointment and unhappiness at losing the first Khurana baby.

And Maan couldn't see his wife upset so he'd asked everyone to give them both some time which they'd all agreed and accepted though reluctantly.

Maan closed his eyes hoping sleep would come but each time he'd closed them he saw his daughter cradled in her mother’s arms. The reminder of that moment made his heart heavy and a heavy sigh escaped his lips.

"Maan…" Geet lifted her head staring at him concerned.

Maan closed his eyes pressing his lips together, Geet pressed her face into the hollow of his neck tightening her arms around him.

"How do we move on from this Geet?" he murmured.

"We don't…" she sniffed "Peanut is just going to live with us"

"Geet…" Maan tilted his head down cradling her cheek "Peanut isn't here" he whispered, a tear sliding down his temple as he told her with an stomach churning ache. He didn't want that they both continue to live in denial. They didn't want to believe their daughter was taken so quickly.

"She's not here physically but she's still in our mind… and our hearts" Gert mumbled, tears sliding down her cheeks. "Our baby is always going to be here even… if we can't see her"

Maan closed his eyes pressing his forehead to hers and nodded.

Geet stared at her reflection in the mirror, her eyes drawn to her stomach, tears burned her eyes as she touched her stomach wishing she could rewind time back and feel her baby once more.

Her heart felt heavy today as her baby was released to them, she wanted to avoid going down, she couldn’t bring herself to bury her daughter, how do parents compose themselves enough to bury their child. She turned when the bathroom door opened and Maan stepped out changed into his white sherwani. Maan walked towards her and took her into his arms and held her.

"Maan… I don’t think I can do this" she murmured. "I don’t want to say bye to her"

"I know" he whispered enveloping her tightly. "Geet, our baby is always going to be with us remember. She’s not leaving us"

"How do I watch her being buried?" Geet lifted her head.

Maan didn’t know how to answer that. "I don’t know, I don’t know" he shook his head.

"How are you going to be able to bury her?" she whispered cradling his cheek swiping the tear that slipped down his cheek.

"We… we’re going to be strong" Maan placed his hand atop of hers and squeezed gently. "Our baby would want us to be there Geet"

Rano itched to approach her daughter she finally climbed down the stairs however restricted herself, Geet was broken and she wanted space so she silently watched her daughter.

They all walked to the back garden where Vikrant and Karan had already dug a small space in the ground and planted a flowerbed on either side wanting their niece to be surrounded with colour.

Geet didn’t meet anyone’s eyes, she focused ahead averting her eyes. Maan squeezed her hand reassuringly and stepped away from her side for a moment, he looked between Karan and Vikrant as they held onto the small coffin. He closed his eyes gathering himself together and lifted it on one of his shoulders, then they’d walked towards the space where their daughter was going to be resting. Geet felt herself breaking all over again as Maan, Vikrant and Karan lowered the coffin and placed it down. Her knees buckled and she fell down to the ground.

"Geet…" Maan hurried over crouching down and held her as she sobbed.

"Bring her back" she looked at him desperately. "Please… bring her back"

"I’m sorry" he cried pulling her into his embrace. "I’m sorry…"

"Dadima…" Vikrant held dadima in his arms as she cried, he wondered what he could do to ease their pain.

Maan lifted Geet and returned inside not wanting to hurt her further by making her stay and watch, he glanced over his shoulder for a brief moment and noticed everyone was just as hurt as they were and he couldn’t offer any words of comfort to anyone at the moment.

Once everyone made their way inside, Karan and Vikrant finished off outside. They first sprinkled soil over the coffin and covered up. They’d gotten a gravestone etched with a special message and the date of her birth, and Angel ‘Peanut’ Khurana written in cursive writing.

After they had done that they returned inside and found everyone sat in the hall reminiscing their happy times when Geet had been expecting.

"I… I don’t know how to help Geet and Maan" dadima pinched the bridge of her nose. "What sort of punishment are they both getting?" she cried. "They’ve been through so much and now…"

"Dadima, please don’t cry" Vikrant placed his hand on her shoulder. "Bhai and bhabhi just need time, it’s difficult. We can't imagine what they’re going through…"

"Vikrant, I… I failed them. How do I help my children?" she whimpered.

"You’re being there for them maa" Anisha enveloped dadima into her arms. "They both know you’re here for them"

"I can’t see Geet and Maan like this… I can’t see them broken" she sobbed. "Seeing them in pain is hurting me… what have my children done to deserve this?"

"Dadima… don’t cry" Meera crouched down by her knees and held onto dadima’s hands. "Remember you said, whatever is written in our destiny we can’t change it. We can’t change what happened" she sniffed. "We just have to be there and trust that there is something good written for them. I believe in what you said, there is going to be something better in their destiny for them"

Dadima nodded reluctantly resting her head on Vikrant’s shoulder crying silently.

Maan tilted his head brushing a hand through his hair as he stood beneath the shower, the memories of his daughter and her burial today were burned in his mind. He wished he could erase them, he hated the feeling of hopelessness and this heart breaking pain that had etched itself within. He glanced over his shoulder when he felt Geet embracing him from behind, he turned around enveloping her in his arms.

"Why did this happen to us?" she whispered pressing her face into his chest. "Everywhere I look, all I can see is her"

"Geet, do you want to move from here for a while?" he asked cradling her cheek. "Aditya called yesterday and…"

"Yes" she didn’t let him finish. She wanted the pain to end, she didn’t want to feel this emptiness in her. Her daughter is always going to be within her, her daughter’s memories are going to be with her forever but this pain… this pain was getting difficult to live with. It was breaking her mentally and physically. Everywhere she turned, she’s reminded of her broken dreams.

"Okay" Maan nodded and hugged Geet tightly. "We’ll start… a new beginning" he mumbled.

Thanks for the update!!

I guess its hard for a parent to loose a child and specially when you expect to give birth in a few days..

Geet and maans pain is difficult to go away the first baby is gone a fear a not having another or maybe loose another is there..

I didn't expect that geet would keep her mother away but all is good..

They had a personal and small funeral of their baby and it was for the best...

I guess leaving for another place for a while would be the best..they need to stay away and let the memories go away slowly....distance and time will help.. they are in need of this so when they think of peanut would be easier...

Time will heal and everyone will find their way back....

Wait for more!!!!

It's heartbreaking part

Media have to understand that it's not just news they publishing it's their emotions they hurting them by their headlines news

Maan can't see Geet in this condition he him self not able to forget what just happened it's unbelievable fr him how can he say to a mother whom held her child 9 months in hr stomach to forget hr in weeks they need more time to heel this pain Geet is right how can she see hr daughter bury

But they have to their when Geet fell on hr knees Maan left everything and came to console hr Daadi maa whom stood strongly broke down meera held her Dadi can't see hr children in pain and peanut was hr wish

Maan decide to move away from here so Geet can get some peace but how can family react on this

I think they want to see them move on so they let them go bz it's good fr Geet Maan is helpless so he agreed fr leaving his family not finding any solution of this pain
