CHAPTER 56

Maan fainted and would have collapsed on the floor, if Adi and Vicky would not have supported him.
Both of them took Maan outside with Dr. Chandrashekhar following them. Savitri Devi, Devyaniji, Thakur Satnarayan Singhania, Thakurain Rukmani Singhania, Rishabh, Raagini, Arnav and Krish who were present outside were shocked to see Maan's state. As hotel belonged to Khuranas as well as it was still new so majority of the rooms next to the Presidential suite were still vacant. Adi and Vicky made Maan lie on the bed in the room adjacent to Geet's suite. Whereas Dr. Chandrashekhar got to work of examining Maan. Adi and Vicky, along with the rest of the family were waiting outside, when Vicky said, "Rishabh Bhai aur Adi Bhai aap dono Maan bhai ke paas rahiye, mai unke liye kuch khaane ko mangwata hoon." (Rishabh Bhai and Adi Bhai, please be with Maan bhai, while I order something for him to eat.)
Soon both doctors had examined their respective patients and came out of the rooms. Dr. Chandrashekhar spoke first, "There is nothing to worry! Maan's blood pressure has shot up after the sequence of today's events. I have given him a medicine to lower his blood pressure and a sedative, so that he can have a peaceful sleep. (Dr. Chandrashekhar had got his medical bag from the car when Vicky had asked Dr. Chandrashekhar and Dr. Vijayalakshmi to come!) Please see that he has his maintainence dose of blood pressure medicine as prescribed to him after he gets up."
Next Dr. Vijayalakshmi spoke, "I'm afraid we have to admit Geetika in hospital as I'm unable to stop her bleeding here."
"BLEEDING?" Arnav gasped.
"The bullet which Kaamini fired at Maan, although missed Maan by Geetika's quick thinking but unfortunately nicked Geetika!" Dr. Chandrashekhar explained.
Looking at Raagini Dr. Vijayalakshmi said, "I suggest Raagini you come inside and remove Geet's jewellery as in Operation Theatre (OT) metal items are not allowed. We need to take Geet to the Operation Theatre so as to stitch her wound where the bullet brushed passed her arm. Besides I also need few tests of Geetika done which are critical for her health. Dr. Chandrashekhar I need your assistance as well." After giving her analysis and giving medical instructions, Dr. Vijayalakshmi rushed inside with Dr. Chandrashekhar and Raagini to see to Geet's well being. Bringing a gasp from Savitri Devi, Devyaniji, Thakur Satnarayan Singhania, Thakurain Rukmani Singhania, Rishabh, Arnav and Krish.
"Iss liye Maan behosh ho gaye the!" (That's why Maan had fainted!)
"Ji haan Dadimaa." (Yes Dadimaa.) Adi answered.
"Geet aur Maan ke beech ajab sa rishta hai. Saath rehte hain to bina ladhe aur bina galatfahamiyon ke apni zindagi nahi bita paate. Aur pareshaaniyon mein aur ek dusare se door hone par, dono jee nahi paate." (Geet and Maan's relationship is strange. When they are together there is continous disagreement and misunderstanding among them. When they are away from one another, they have no will to live.)
"Isse hi saccha pyaar kehte hain Savitriji!" (This is what they call true love, Savitriji!) Thakurain Rukmani Singhania answered. Making Rishabh, Arnav, Adi and Vicky notice Thakur Satnarayan Singhania, Thakurain Rukmani Singhania and Krish for the first time. Devyaniji introduced Satnarayanji, Rukmaniji and Krish to Rishabh, Arnav, Adi and Vicky.
Soon Dr. Chandrashekhar returned from the Presidential suite along with Raagini and said, "Vijaya, is summoning an ambulance from Sanjeevani. I suggest as a family you all decide who will stay tonight with Maan here, and with Geet at the hospital?"
After lot of arguing and debating it was decided that Rishabh will stay with Maan (as Maan listens only to Rishabh!), and Raagini with twins as Aryan would not stay without Khushi at night, hence she will have to go to Shantivan. Arnav and Adi will stay at hospital in the night. Thakur Satnarayan Singhania, Thakurain Rukmani Singhania and Krish left for their home after lot of debating. Finally, Savitri Devi politely said that she will ask them for help if needed. Vicky first went and dropped Devyaniji and Khushi home. Manohar mamaji, Manorama mamiji and Anjali along with a cranky Aryan had already left for Shantivan when they came to know about Kaamini shooting at Maan. After Vicky returned, Savitri Devi, Meera, Radhika and Vicky left for Khurana Mansion.
NEXT DAY
Maan woke up with a heavy head but perfectly refreshed. When he sat on the bed he saw himself in a strange room with Rishabh sleeping uncomfortably on a couch. Suddenly last nights incidents came back to Maan. With Dr. Chandrashekhar's words hammering in his head, "The bullet which Kaamini fired at you, although missed you but has nicked Geetika!"

Agitated and worried Maan got up from the bed thundering, "GEET!" Waking up Rishabh. "Maan, tum theek ho?" (Maan are you alright?) As Maan had suddenly stood up from the bed, his head was swimming and he held his head. Rishabh went near Maan, supported him and said sternly, "Kal poori raat tumhara BP high thaa. Abhi subah kam hua hai. Iss liye abb rest karo. Mai breakfast order karta hoon." (Whole night your BP was high. It has reduced only today morning. Therefore rest now. I'll order for breakfast.)
"Bhai, Geet kaisi hai mujhe uss se milna hai." (Bhai, how is Geet? I want to meet her.)
"Maan apne emotions par control karo, Geetika abhi so rahi hai. Doctors ne finally uska bullet wound subah seeya (stitch) hai. Abb ek responsible pitah ki tehra, freshen up ho, breakfast karo aur apne bacchon ko dekho. Naniji, ne tumhare aur bacchon ke kapade Shyamlalji ke saath bhejein hain." (Control your emotions Maan. Geetika is sleeping right now as doctors were only able to stitch her bullet wound today morning. Now like a mature and responsible father look after your children. Grandma has sent a change of clothes for you and children with the driver, Shyamlal.)
"Bacche kiske saath hain? Bina Geet aur mere toh woh tang kar rahe honge. Kaash bacche samajh..." (Who is looking after the twins? Without Geet and me they would be restless. I wish twins could understand...)
"Raagini unke paas aur mai tumhare paas soya hoon. Maan apne bacchon kabhi "for granted" matt lena. Woh log bahut lucky hote hain jo "maa-baap" bann paate hain." (Raagini stayed whole night with them and I stayed the whole night with you. Maan never take your children"for granted". Its a lucky few people only whom the Almighty blesses with children.) Rishabh said with tears glistening in his eyes.
"Bhai, I'm sorry I didn't mean..."
"Koi baat nahi. Chalo abb tum tyaar ho, nashta karo aur dawa khao. Aur mai dekhta hoon ki agar Raagini ko help chahiye?" (Never mind. Now you get dressed, have breakfast then medicine. While I will go and see Raagini if she needs any help with children.) Saying this Rishabh left.
After freshening up, Maan was having his breakfast and switched on the TV. Soon the news was blaring
"BREAKING NEWS! Yesterday evening, there was wedding reception of one of the biggest tycoons of the country, Mr. Maan Singh Khurana. The party which was the talk of all socialites, filmstars and politicians. It was an extremely private affair with only the selected few being invited from the field of politics, business, films and world of entertainment. Mr. Maan Singh Khurana and Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana were looking perfect couple made for one another (A photograph of Maan and Geet flashed on the screen). This party was initially suppose to be to introduce Mr. Maan Singh Khurana's twins to the society but was later changed to his wedding reception. The surprise of the evening was when Mr. Maan Singh Khurana and Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana sang for one another and then as a couple. Then Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana and Mr. Maan Singh Khurana's sister danced beautifully on a semi-classical song. The only thing to marr the happy and joyous occasion was the presence of widow of Mr. Kailash Khurana, Kaamini Khurana. Later in the evening, Mrs. Kaamini Kailash Khurana, not only attacked Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana but also tried to murder Mr. & Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana. But by timely intervention of CID team, husband and wife were saved. Currently Mrs. Kaamini Kailash Khurana is in jail and Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana is still unconscious as Kaamini's bullet grazed Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana's arm. We hope and pray for Mrs. Maan Singh Khurana's quick and speedy recovery! That's all from Meenakshi Sarcar and cameraman Avinash Kochar!"
After breakfast, Rishabh, Raagini, Maan and twins left for Khurana Mansion. Maan desperately wanted to meet Geet, but his scared and anxious children refuse to leave Maan even when he went to the washroom. Finally after twins and Maan's lunch, when the twins had gone to sleep, Vicky went to Maan's room after taking Dr. Chandrashekhar's advice. "Bhai, Geet bhabhi ko hosh aa gaya hai woh aapse milna chahti hain." (Bhai, Geet bhabhi has regained her consciousness and asking for you.) Vicky said with smile on his face. As expected Maan rushed out of the room not even waiting for Vicky. On reaching Geet's Presidential Suite he found the Raizada ladies present but there was no Arnav. Seeing Maan at the door, Devyaniji, Manorama, Anjali and Khushi politely withdrew giving privacy to the husband and wife. Maan was staring at Geet without blinking and so was Geet at Maan.
Suddenly the sound of something falling outside Geet's room, broke the trance like stare of the two. Maan at once came to the present and turned into his MSK avtar. "Geet, tum kya kar rahi theen? Mujhe bacchane ki khatir khud beech mein aa gayeen. Humesha se tum..." (Geet, what the hell were you trying to do? In your desire to save me you came between the bullet and me. You always...)
"Aap jaante hain ki humare liye aap se zaruri koi bhi nahi. Chahe humari shaadi jaldbaazi mein kyun na hui ho aur aapko humari marzi jaane ne ka mauka naa mila ho, magar hum shaadi ka har ek vachan nibhaenge" (Do you know, you are the most important person in my life. I know our marriage got done in hurry and haphazard manner, without my approval for it in advance but for me we are husband and wife and I'll fulfill all my wedding vows!)
"Geet tum..." (Geet you...) But Geet silenced Maan by facing her palm outward.
"Hum aaj aapko vacchan dete hain ki aajse jo bhi aapke liye, Veer ke liye aur Vashi ke liye sahi hoga hum wohi hi karenge. Chahe usse karne se hummein kitni bhi takleef kyun naa ho." (I promise you Maan that from today I will do whatever is best for you, Veer and Vashi without being bothered how much discomfort or pain it causes me!)
"Geet yeh tum kya keh rahi ho?" (Geet what are you saying?)
"Geet aur Maan ka rishta kewal iss janam ka nahi balki saaton janam ka hai. Maan ki taraf aanewali koi bhi goli yaa khatre ko Geet se pehle guzarna hoga iss pehle ki woh Maan ko chhue bhi sake. JAB TAK YEH GEET ZINDAH HAI, MAAN KO KUCH NAHI HO SAKTA. PARMATAMA KO BHI GEET KA SAAMNA KARNA HOGA AGAR UNHONE GEET KE MAAN KO CHHUA! " (Geet and Maan's relation is not only for this life but next seven (7) lives. Any bullet or danger before coming to Maan will have to surpass Geet before it can even come close to Maan. As long as this Geet is alive, nothing can happen to Maan. Almighty will also have to face me if he decides to Geet's Maan.)
"GEET!" Maan thundered hearing about Geet's death.
