Gullam chapter 5
On monday savitri devi singh Khurana arrived bheravgarh ...she enters the haveli and found mohinder handa at the same place where she saw him for the first time when years ago she entered this haveli
her eyes met with his...and she tried to intimidate the person who ruled her grandson...who she once respected but now only loathe him
then she remembered the day she started loathing mohinder handa...the day he clearly denied to release maan from this slavery
' maan was doing well in his business also repaid the money he bought from investors now she want him leave bheravgarh permanently but she knows that maan is not going to agree with her so she goes to mohinder handa to talk to him regarding this matter...And in very polite way she requested him to free maan ... he didn't answer first then she literally begged him to free maan but he curtly denied her and said " maan ko gullam isliye nhi banaya ki ek din use azad kardu...kaam karne ki sirf chooth Di hai azaadi nhi ...bhale hi 5 din waha 2 din yaha rahe par wo rahega humesha humara gullam hi "
She still remember his words ...After that day she starts loathed him but was helpless in front of her grandson so couldn't do anything ...and now too she can't do anything
Mohinder handa look toward the door and found savitri Devi standing there his eyes met hers and he noticed her expression and eyes which are trying to intimidate him which is next to possible task.
He chuckles on her stupidity and yelled 'MAAN' to show her the reality...in few seconds maan ran to his Malik ...after reaching there he noticed his dadima who was standing at the door but he didn't move from his place or take a step forward to meet her ...he stand quietly near mohinder while looking down
Mohinder smriked at her in victory and gave him permission to meet his dadima
After getting his master's permission he run towards his dadima and engulf her in an embrace... when he hugged her... her all anger burst out in form of tears and she too wrapped her arms around him forgetting her all anger towards him
Maan wiped her tears and nods negatively while saying not to cry with his eyes which make her remember her small maan resulting in more tears to drop
After few minutes they controlled their emotions and both enters the living room where mohinder handa already sitting in his throne shape couch...savitri greet him with namaste ...he too replied the same and tell her to take a seat and send servants to bring some refreshments
"gadi Mai shagun Ka sab samaan aur gifts hai kisi ko keh k nikalwa lijiye" and he send maan which irked her
Maan brought few big thals with the help of other servants inside and placed it on the table...at the same time geet came running down the stairs and just engulf her daimaa in a tight embrace "ohhh daimaa...kaisi hai ap...I miss you so so so much...kitne time baad aaiye hai aap yaha "...savitri lightly wrapped her arms around her
"miss you too bete...hum theek hai ...aap bataiye aap kaisi hai " " bilkul first class "she said coming out from her embrace
then her eyes goes towards the items placed on the table and her eyes twinkle like a child "gifts ...humare liye "
" ha bete sab aapke liye hai .. shagun"
Geet smiled brightly and started exploring all the thals which is full of sarees dry fruits etc...
She unconvered all the thals and the last thal she unconvered was full of jewelleries but the one thing that attracts her the most was payal ...she never seen this type of payal full of ghungroos...she got fascinated by this payal and the thing she liked the most was sweet noise all those ghoongros was making
Mohinder handa saw that payal and taunts savitri "pota Aapka acha khasa kamaata hai ...heere ki nhi toh sone(gold) ki hi payal khareed leti ...itni bhi kya kanjoosi"
"kanjoosi nhi thakur Sahab riwaz hai...sona (gold) bohot shubh mana jata hai isiliye use paero Mai nhi pehna jata "
(We Punjabi(who are not from punjab) dont wear anything of gold in feets ..I don't know about Other religions or customs)
And before she further say anything...geet intrupts them "Hume ye payal bhohat pasand hai...dekhiye baoji kitni pyaari hai ye...humara toh man kar rha hai hum abhi hi use pehan let"
Then she look towards maan who was standing silently at side and forward her hand to give him payal and signal him with her eyes to make her wear this payal
Savitri was going to deny her to wear that payal but she stopped when she looked at the interaction between maaneet and the next moment she saw maan kneeling down in front of geet and placed her right feet on his knee and was going to tied the payal around her feets when savitri Devi finally stops him
"rukiye ye kya kar rhe hai aap "
All started looking at her with weird expression when she further explain herself
" I mean ye shagun ki payal...aur humne aapko sirf ye cheeze dikhaye hai ... officially ye cheeze hum aapko sagai k din denge fir aap ise shaddi k din pehanengi usse pehle nhi "
Geet pouts after hearing her but she did as savitri Devi said and placed the payal back in the thal
Handa's didn't have any old woman or any woman in their home who knows about all the proper rituals and customs so they blindly trust her in all these matters and never questioned her ...when savitri Devi was working in this haveli as geet's daimaa she was the only one who make them follow all customs and rituals even when geet's mother died mohinder handa only asked savitri about that matter
She also knew that they blindly follow her and trust but she never betrayed them and make them do anything which was beneficial for her and her maan
But is she going to follow her morals now too when she's fully against this marriage and want maan to break all his ties with bheravgarh
Not much of maan and geet I know but this part was also necessary
