Blast from the Past
"Let me go, Geet yelled . "Didn't I say its over, She said again. "Oh come on Geet just because you know now I'm married you are behaving like this what about our lovely time we shared, Rohan said . "If I had known you were married , I wouldn't have got out with you in the first place, She replied struggling to get free. Geet had just joined this company a few months back and she started going out with this man her superior and current boss thinking he loves her genuinely , but a little while ago she got to know he was married when his wife came to the office . "No wonder you always used to say we should not get noticed in public, She said . "Oh Geet you are getting angry on such petty things , now come on let us spend some great time together, He said dragging her. "You have never been in love have you Geet, then why not choose me , you will get all the love, He said . He is right, I have never been in love except for that one time , but he disappeared without a word', She thought back to her past and the only person she ever loved her brother's best friend Maan.
Past
Geet 16 and Maan 20
"Geet will you go out with me, a boy asked Geet . "Well ...I..I.., before she could complete she was pulled back. "Well she won't , so go away, A young man said keeping her close to him. "And also if I ever see you or your gang betting around her , you will see the worst, He threatened. The boy ran away seeing an older person in front of him. "Maan, why are you here, She asked surprised. "Did my brother send you to keep an eye on me, Geet inquired. "Adi is busy with our annual function and he did not ask me to come here anyway ,are you an idiot that you can't see where that boy was leading you to, He asked .He made her sit in his car and Geet followed reluctantly. "Why do you bother, its got nothing to do with you . He could have been my first boyfriend as it is Adi bhai is so overprotective and now you scared him off, She said once they were settled. "Why did you come here anyway, if its not for my brother, She asked. "Well to see you, He replied still keeping his eyes on the road. "Why ", She asked .He did not answer but drove silently irritating her. "We have reached your house, He said after a while. "Well I'm not getting down until you answer, She spoke adamantly . He pulled her closer shocking her, "Curious , are we , well then I will tell you the next time I see you , goodbye, He smirked and then sped his car vanishing from her sight.
A few days later her brother informed her that he is gone to some other place when she asked the reason my brother got furious, "Enough Geet go and concentrate on your studies and you will never ask about him . Am I clear. She nodded but was still curious as she knew both of them are still best friends but why was she forbidden to even talk about him.
Present
"No you are wrong, She said . " Oh then you loved someone really who would love a stupid plain Jane like you, now stop struggling and let's go, He said. I wish you were here to help me in this ordeal , what have I got myself into', She thought helplessly. Just when she thought about giving up he was pulled back by her arm and Rohan was on the ground wincing in pain. "You have seriously got the worst taste in men , Geet and here I was hoping when you become older you will have a more sober choice, Came the voice she has longed to hear all these years. "Maan, She whispered turning to face him. "Well yeah who else did you expect Superman, He teased. "Who the hell are you, Rohan said standing up. "Well I'm her bodyguard got a problem with that , let me give you a more formal introduction , I am Maan Singh Khurana and you see this girl is mine so the next time if you even lay a finger on her I will make sure to pulverize you, He threatened in a calm tone.
Rohan recognized his name and left from there knowing the consequences to mess up with him but he had other plan in mind. "Now let's go, He said. "Well thanks for your help but I will not go anywhere with you, She said. "You are still stubborn Geet , well if you don't hurry up I will have to carry you in, He said taking steps towards her. "You wouldn't dare, She said . "A challenge, well let's see how I fare in that, Saying this in the next moment he picked her up carrying her in.
"Now you will stay here until your brother comes picking you up, He said. "Why did you leave without uttering a word, She asked. "Oh so you are still mad about that, He smirked. "Well then to answer your question , I had something urgent to attend to, now go to sleep, He said. "I'm going back to my room, She was about to head for the door when he pulled her back caging her . "I think I said you are not going anywhere , so why don't you act like a good girl now and do what I say, He whispered.
"Maan open up , I won't let you go that easy, They heard a lady's voice coming from outside banging the door. "Gosh this irritating lady when will she give up , Geet help me for a moment and stay still, He said. The lady barged in to see him with Geet . "Leah , if you could see I'm busy so just get out and stop following me everywhere, He spoke harshly. The lady banged the door and left making him breathe a sigh of relief. "Who was that if shes your girlfriend you should go after her, She asked . "I'm not interested in any of the female population , they are annoying, He said . "Well then what about me, She asked . "You are not one of those creatures, He said leaving her . "Now if your queries are done kindly sleep, He told her. "Where will you sleep, She again put up a query. If it was any other then he would have yelled at the person for putting so many questions but this was the girl he loved from a long time so he spoke calmly, "I will take the couch. And now no more questions. She pouted but complied and slept quietly. Just when he thought her queries were done , "I'm hungry, She said making Maan want to pull his hair. "Alright but not a word again, He said. He ordered the food and after having her tummy full she finally slept quietly. "Phew , her talking abilities have increased drastically , how much can she talk, He said to himself.
Geet woke up the next morning to hear her brother trying to wake her up. "Geet wake up, we are leaving, Adi said . "Bhai when did you arrive where is Maan, She looked around. "He has gone after that girl, he said he needed to check on her, Adi said knowing the reaction his sister will give . "Oh , but we can wait for him,She said only to get a glare from her brother.
"He has helped you and now what you need to do is give a resignation tomorrow . Since when have you been dating that married boss of yours, Adi inquired. "Umm...that ...I.will be packing my things now, She said rushing out mentally cursing Maan for telling her brother everything. Geet bumped in to the lady from last night, "I m sorry , I wasn't looking. "It's alright , you were with Maan right. Are you his girlfriend , well if you are then you are a brave one to be with him even knowing the dangers involved , those rumors were indeed true . Just a piece of advise if you want to be safe then stay away from him or you will be in danger , bye, Leah said . Geet was shocked at the revelation , "Is that why he disappeared years back, I have to find out.
